That is another theory.  He never says it is false.  I'm not saying it may exist, however these mythical cities have a tendency of showing up.  Troy, Ankor-Wat, etc.  Also there are arguments on the translation... when he says bigger than asia, that could be talking about asia minor (they could not have known how big ASIA was).
