here, in Holland, there is a tradition that presents are shared on 5 December, packaged in a nice piece of construction work, and accompanied with a poem. it's called "Sinterklaas", and it seems to be somehow connected to Santa Claus.
now, the tradition is that everyone writes their name, plus their interests and a small wishlist, on a piece of paper, and throws that into a box, then random names are picked by each. the present is bought, the poem is written, and the package is made, all in secret. you don't let anyone know how you picked. you give the gifts by placing them all in the center of a room, one at a time. then, you again pull names, who can open his gift first, and that person has to read the poem, sometimes carrying instructions on how to open his package. and always containing a few jokes about the person who get's it.
now, the idea is to do the same on HLP. gifts and clever packaging is out of the question off course, but we could draw random persons, and try to construct a few funny verses about that one.
anyone up for this?
