And yet, it just doesn't look that good. It's the proverbial "polished turd".

I don't get it... You people have trouble running HPC? It runs perfectly on mine with a 2 year old grapgics card, and half the required proscessor speed, with every detail level as high as it can go... I don't mean, runs good, I mean, like, runs, as good as Xbox... The controls are the only change... But there is an Xbox controller to USB adaptor...

Seeing how as Hippo is still running a P450, I think his standards for "perfectly" may be significantly skewed.

What was wrong with the PC version of GTA III? I've never played the console version but the PC version was pretty cool.

It's not a bad game, don't get me wrong GTA3 and VC are my favourite sandbox games. GTA3 pc was a poorly done port that struggles to run on my machine despite all the optimizations I try to make it run smoother (that I can find) whereas Vice City is a better looking game and runs like butter. However, there are people with slower machines than mine that can run GTA3 with no problems. It's a well documented problem.

as in perfectly, I mean, AS well as the Xbox... whether im walking through a clear tunnel, or in the middle of a huge firefight... Where the Xbox sometimes slowed down in the maw when there were explosions, it runs wihout losing a frame...

Would it be possible to witness some screenshots? I want to see the quality of the GFX.
