Textures for FS2 - Better resolution
I have got the idea of sharpening all FS capship textures to at least the doulbe of their size. I open Photoshop, enlarge the picture(2x size of original). The sharpening tool is not the best for this(it looks quite bad if you get closer to it). Blurring tool makes it even dirtier and (in-game)lower visual quality.

Let me enquire how you professional artists sharpen the textures you do?

I guess they redraw it....or overdraw.

That's my 2 cents.

Beside use bicubic resize.

redraw.

When i make things larger (like i did with the nebulae), I normally resize them, have a normal-size version next to it and then apply the line tool for edges, filling in details such as textures, paintbrush, and blending options. If you dont have clear forms you simply use the paintbrush to maintain the original shape without having it look stretched.
