Oh yeah, there was quite a bit of talk about that scene when it first aired.

Just goes to show that JMS's stagey, over-the-top writing simply wasn't a good fit for a TV show, and that the result was much better when he dialed back the histrionics and just let the actors act.

Okay, people; Two things:

One: If you can organise a Farscape mod, I'd be more than happy to host it.

Two: I think it's about time we started guessing as to how they're gonna un-kill Crichton and Aeryn.

My guess is they'll do it the easy way and just have the beads not being them. Make up some technobabble about how the thing used to transport all their organic tissue up to the scout-ship requires an equal amount of matter to be exchanged between the source and destination and how the beads are just that funny alien's crap.

Or maybe it'll just fly over the boat and magnet up all the bits.

And there's always the REALLY, REALLY overly complicated way of doing it: Using the "unrealized reality" thing.

Or they'll just do it the commercial cash-in way, and ignore inconvenient plot problems like those altogether. It wouldn't be surprising, given the nature of the ressurection- they had obviously intended for the show's ending to be final the first time around, and could easily have just started up a new show of the same quality. But why do that when you can be lazy and make some lackluster knockoffs of an already well-known title?

You do realize that that wasn't supposed to be the final episode of Farscape, yes? The plug was pulled on Farscape far too unexpectedly for them to put together a "final" final episode. The one with them being marbelized just happened to be the last one in the can. So I'm sure they already had the resolution scripted.

Well, I have been known to be wrong on occasion. Just for kicks, you understand.

That really sucked when they cancelled it.

There was kinda a period of like 4-5 months where all sci-fi series' were being cancelled left and right. AFAIK only Stargate and Enterprise (and to a lesser extent Andromeda, but that's tied to Enterprise, it being a Roddenberry creation) survived the cull.

At the time Farscape was Sci-fi's second highest rated show too. Only Stargate got more viewers so they can't claim they pulled it cause it was unpopular.

As ZB says Farscape was pulled so quickly that they didn't have time to do anything about it. That episode had already been filmed and they were all ready to film the second half when they got told that they'd been cancelled.

In the final episode the fighters pilot claims that he is "sampling" John and Aeryn so whatever he was doing is probably not something that killed them (thus making it easy to bring them back)
