Unfortunately, however, the situation is flawed. There is an intelligent (however slightly) program and an intelligent (however slightly) arbitrator, as opposed to nature. ;)

Man, what a great project. I am truely interested to find out how they turn out. Do you know if the poems really "evolve" or is just a farce to waste our time?

I'm not sure how intelegent the program is, it has to simulate heredity in word strings, but beond that I don't think it's anything you would call intelegent, as far as the intelegent arbitrator goes, I don't think that is a flaw as the people decideing the fates of the output poems are mearly killing off the unfit offspring like a preditor or starvation would
