if you work on the FPS thing do it for Half-Life 2 (when it's out of course) not Serious Sam. Everyone will get HL2 but not everyone has Serious Sam.
PS: that corridor looks good so far

Ditch the floor texture and model the floor. Right now that floor is looking pretty flat. When you're trying to get nice accurate lighting in the scene for renders later, you're going to get a pretty anemic, inaccurate set of rays coming up from the floor.

Uhm... this is a bad thing??

I'll keep it in mind, but for later. I want to keep the polycount down to FPS level levels, so with texture, bump, glow, and reflection mapping on that floor, it should be sufficient for now.

Sandwich, if you're planning on doing an FPS mod (I'd suggest Half Life 2 or the Unreal Warfare engine) there's tons of stuff left over from FS:FPS. (Which was going to be an FS campaign for Red Faction) Send me a PM, I don't think Plasma would mind someone adopting the materials since the project is dead.

If you're concerned about polycount, look toward those pipes and their lack of segmentation. That's way too many polys spent for an FPS.

I voted first for the Asteroid base, then the parser, and lastly you can lend a hand with my projects ... (last part joking);)
Don't think of it as being outnumbered. Think of it as having a wide target selection !

Yeah, I know about the pipes, but they can be lowered without a problem. Besides, they were more of a stand-in anyway - they're not even textured, just assigned a color.

While I'm trying to keep in mind a relatively low polycount, at the same time I'm not sure what the polycount requirements are for Serious Sam or any of the other FPSes.

That's a pretty generous offer. What format are most of the files in?
- Eddie Kent Woo, Setekh, Steak (of Steaks), AWACS. Seriously, just pick one.

I was messing around a bit, trying to get the light strips to actually affect the lighting of the scene (which I figured out how, BTW), when I came across something called an "Ink 'n Paint" material... ;)

BW: Thirteen?

Alikchi: Thank you. :)

Having done graphic design of a website most of yesterday, I wasn't into the artistic mood when I finally got home, which is why I messed around with render settings as opposed to modeling more. ;) But today I ahould be doing prettty much nothing but input data and coding, so perhaps I'll be more in the mood to stretch my artistic muscles when I get back. ;)

Oh, the asteroid base was winning before as well, but you apparently can't read: :p

Erk, no, far from it. While much of the time I still wish I could have Rhino's modeling tools, I've pretty much converted to MAX.
