Alpha-1 flies with an 02 on his Herc2 when he's flying in the main campaign. In fact, everyone does. In fact, I think it's meant to stand for Mk. 2, not pilot number.

why put the model number on the ship. That's like painting "F14" on every Tomcat. It would be silly. If anything, that should really be a unit/wing/squadron/flight number.
