BTW I just got Starlancer and...
After the inro movie for single player it crahses?? WTF? I couldn't find a patch or a fix anywhere (I run win XP BTW) so I said screw this! good thing I only paid $1.99. Looks like Microsoft has abandoned it cause multiplayer make an error on The Zone, they don't support Sl anymore.

I am currently now converting the ships to FS2 and have no problem with the meshes, BUT the textures are another thing! Has anyone ever done this conversion before? How do I get teh .TGA's to convert properly. I use the correct extracter from the .hog file, but the resulting .TGA's are unreadible (says error reading file header) even photoshop fails, I tried it fter irfranview failed to open like usual...

Please HELP!!

Of course I can say screw teh original textures, all the models can be remapped, but then they are just gonna sit on my drive till I can find a mapper so I am better off using htem as they are in SL IF I can get teh textures out that is...

because they were very cool, personally I think even better than fs2 ones.

Though the box art may suck and microsoft could have done a better job marketing it, from exploring the meshes they look pretty damn good! Now that I can't play the regular game at least I can get some use outta it , right??? (Might as well get some extra ships for people's use... Not to mention weapons!)

StarLancer once even attempted corrupting the Windows XP shell and I managed to save it just in-time.  It doesn't like to install after SP1 went on the machine.

They do have info on what you are looking for in the SL Editing forums.  Might want to check on your system though - I also have winXP, and am able to run SL without trouble. I did have the same thing you described happen  on another system.  The prob was the vid drivers.  Updated them and no more trouble.  I'm also runnin DirectX 9b  with no troubles - might help to update it.

so you have all the meshes converts, cool, we only have to find how to texture then or convert the texture, LR is a good page, maybe we can use the models get a good Story Line and create a Mod for FS2 Using the Open .exe
