Is this normal with SCP?
Hi all.  I'm setting up my brothers new computer to do some LAN action FS2 battles on.  Anyways, I installed SCP and all the stuff I could find, but I am running into problems.

What command line should I have so that the videos will play when he goes though the campaign?  I have the avi ones in the right folder.

What command lines should I have so that it looks the best?

There is always a major 1 second slow down when ever a ship jumps in, a ship is destroyed, or, um thats about it.  Normal running is about 60 - 70 fps.  It is like the system stalls.

When a ship jumps out it enters the warp thingy, but does not dissipper like it normally does.  Only with all of it has PASSED through the warp does it dissippear.  I am guessing a HTL problem there...

Any good MP missions out there?

THANKS!

Everything is the latest (that I could find  3.5.5 open_r, media 356c, launcher 3.3 )

The movies should play by default.
However if you dont have a modified campaign you will have to call the avi's mve's because thats what its looking for.

I think I know what your system stalls are because of, I will look into that for you.

The movies play by defult?  Wow.

What do you think is wrong?  It is getting kinda of anoying when the battle stalls up whenever someone dies...

Oh.  Anyway to have them loaded at once to get away from the stalls?

Or is that a stupid question?

No question is stupid as long as they are questions.

I leave the answer for Bobbau, but my guess is smg. can be done about it, though I wonder wheter this falls into the debugging - the only thing the SCP team are duing until Xmas.

AFAIK multiplayer still will crash when you try opening a game, no matter is its LAN, internet or anything else. At least that's what all the recent builds (since 3.5.5) have done for me.

I tried out all the new stuff on my computer

P3 800
386 megs o ram
TNT2
XP PRO

Too see if there way any difference it how the game played, and it was running fine!  (Almost)  The FPS were from 9-30.  I was running  "fs2_open_r.exe -htl -pcx32 -jpgtga -d3d_no_vsync -d3dmipmap -cell -fps"  And I had no major freezes or anything until about 50 seconds in the game when some fighters jumped in and the game crashed to the desktop.  :-(  So, while the game looks great, it is unplayable right now.

About LAN, I think I am going to be stuck using the normal FS2 for LAN right now...  :-(  Oh well.

I complained about that long ago, but nobody seemed to have any interest in fixing non-internet multi play.

By patient I'm working on it, or what I 'believe' be the problem, see this post for details:

Hey I just read that post...  Good idea about the flag.  Can't wait until it gets fixed!

You really are doing a good job.
