Okay.
Wrongness level 1: If I saw that thing coming towards me in my backyard, say, my old bolt-action wouldn't fill it with rounds quick enough to keep me happy. It's downright creepy and looks vaguely malevolent. When I get enough money to buy and regularly, ah, fuel an M16, my tolerance for this sort of wrongness will increase accordingly. It's really a pity Vulcan cannons are out of my legal and financial reach, or I would soon become positively Christlike in my tolerance of and affection for wrong critters coming at me. Bring on more of 'em, says the theoretical I.
Wrongness level 2: It's like a furry, but a closet furry; someone who's all-out, you know, "I like ****ing sheep", that's fine, so long as they ain't my sheep and I don't have to hear about it or for God's sake see it. This sort of thing is creepy because it's like that, but humanoid enough to pass for normal, which is sorta like the feeling of not being sure whether the guy in the sauna with you is gay. It's just... off.
Wrongness level 3: Why, for Chrissake? It doesn't add anything to the appearance, isn't stylized enough to be called an artistic thing, isn't creative or original in the slightest, doesn't add interest or look like it involves special capabilities or anything justifying of that sort. It's just kinda this wierd, creepy fetishy thing.
Wrongness level 4: Everyone knows creepy fetishy things are just wrong. If any braindead internet-addled forumite wants to annoy me with their half-assed attempts at egalitarianism and tell me creepy fetishes aren't deeply, truly, seriously wrong, you need to spend several hours on Google looking up all permutations of "scat". There are plenty of things to have sex with as it is, and I have a hard time believing that the people who make these sorts of things have managed to get tired of ****ing actual women. Well, they're Japanese, I guess, and it's becoming increasingly apparent that the Japanese were never all that interested in ****ing humans in the first place so much as octopi and other horrible things, but that's no excuse for anyone else to put up with it.
Also- you say you're against "half-human half-anything" critters like in ST- how, exactly, is this not just that?
