Whoa, whoa, whoa, back it up, beep beep; calm down son. I am unduly sorry if my 'unorthodox' views on gaming have 'offended' you, and I would like to extend this apology to anyone else who feels the need to get so irrationally angry. I really hope you're not assuming that I just say things for the sake of being iconoclastic. If you don't like my opinions, then frankly, I really don't know what to say to you.
I have already stated that I believed the Xbox was worth the money. I'm not
dismissing the popular games for certain consoles, I just don't think this is a good method of arguing, or 'giving reasons' as you call it:

What does X-Box have besides Halo???? Nothing. What does Gamecube have, only the best games on the market out there. Get yourself a gamecube, best 100 bucks you'll ever spend.

KotOR, Crimson Skies 2, MechAssault, Metal Gear Solid 2, Project Gotham 1 & 2, Prince of Persia, Legacy of Kain: Defiance, every EA Sports game, Halo 2 in a few months, Deus Ex 2, Arx Fatalis, XIII, Counterstrike, Alter Echo, Armed & Dangerous, Battlestar Galactica, Bloody Roar Extreme... do you want me to keep going?
I believe Halo is good, but not quite stellar, Prince of Persia is a multiplatform game, Defiance has gotten mixed reviews, I don't think Bloody Roar has ever aimed particularly high, and I think XIII and Counter-Strike are relatively bad shooters, but this is all besides the point.
I'm not sure what you think a simple enumeration of the acclaimed games for a particular console does. I highly doubt that someone sets out to buy a console with no idea of what games are on it. I don't see how the list of good games for one console would be more significantly convincing than the list of good games for another console. If the person was totally unfamiliar with all the games mentioned, neither one would be more convincing than the other. If they were familiar with most of the titles, then they'd probably already have their own pre-conceived notions of the quality of the games.
I honestly don't think it helps all that much to answer the question "Is Xbox worth it?" They're fantastic as recommendations once someone has decided to or has already made a purchase.
There may be some truth to your high horse accusation, but it's also pretty hypocritical coming from you.
