I'm sick of NW dying because the goddamn 'tards on the shared server connect to the MySQL server thousands and thousands of times and crash the whole goddamn thing.

So I'm thinking of getting a spiffy new dedicated server. While I can cover the costs of it, I'd rather not have to waste all my money, so I'd be leasing chunks out to a ton of people, real cheap to cover some of the cost.

What kinda stuff would you expect for say........$3/month? Bearing in mind the only real limits would be on band-width and disk-space. And that there'd be a Cpanel for every 'member' to set-up FTP's and e-mails as they pleased. And that I'd need to give it to like 60 people to make it worthwhile.

So.....?

I can't. Gotta wait till HostDime reset the MySQL server. See, it's not just a NW problem. Someone destroyed the entire MySQL system by overloading it with connections.

I don't get why everyone has this distrust of PayPal. Me and my pops have done ****-loads of stuff through PayPal and ain't never had no trouble.

Still, I'm open to alternatives..........alternative methods of pa......err......Damn. how can I phrase this?

Were I actually, you know, maintaining a web page these days, might have a better answer.

But, ah, anything with a connection fast enough to deliver mid-res video at a reasonable rate, and enough webspace for me to put ****loads of it up there and forget about it, because that's precisely the sort of behavior that got me kicked off of my last hosting deal.

Oh, and some form of security. Suppose there's no way to keep, say, you from prying in there as server admin if you so pleased, but since I do run restricted-access stuff time to time I like to keep it bloody restricted, without having to resort to hiding the good stuff in among like 50 similar virused files again. Three bucks, it'd just have to keep the ****heads out. Much more than that, I'm expecting some sort of script that does something horrible to anyone who tries to get clever on parts they ain't supposed to see.
