Personally, I don't think it's worth it for privacy reasons. I avoided giving out any personal information thus far by not giving out my real name nor my real street address but then in the e-mail they ask for a phone number for confirmational reasons so I think I'm just going to let this go...

1&1 are European, not just UK. The company I work for rents out a dedicated server from their German branch (1und1).

And they are as big as they claim. I wouldn't worry about giving out personal information to them if they require it - they've proven themselves to be quite professional.

Strange that they'd offer it to US peeps from the UK site instead of just cloning the UK one to an America-specific doman.
