Many people have been upgrading the look of many ships.  So i thought i would try something simple.  I wanted to give the Meson bomb a new look.









And yet another cheap texture job

nice model but those textures are vasudans and orginal meson is terran desing so terran textures fit better and it's need better texture job anyway:)

I don't think this is a replacement for the meson bomb but it would work very well as a Vasudan version.

Well I was wondering, would the Vasudans actually go in for WMDs? I mean we know they don't really put much faith in sentry guns. Perhaps they've got a thing about honourable combat? Obviously they'd have to agree that meson bombs would be deployed if the Shivans threatened GTVA space, but maybe, like sentries, they'd feel inclined to leave that kind of research up the Terrans

Though I doubt they'd want to leave the Terrans to develop WMDs... even if they are allies

I don't like it, looks like some sort of nurb that's been booliened, with a sphere in the center.

well i never liked the origional.  to me it never had the robust look to be so destructive.  with only that little bit in the middle for an explosive charge it looked about the size of a helois.  and the helois didn't have anywhere near that kind of charge.

also only the brown highlights vasuden.  the blue centre and highlights are from the meson textures.  i would have just used them but i couldn't make them fit.  even in LithUvUnwrap (which i can't use).  so i extracted parts of it that i liked and used them.


will also make some changes to see what it looks like as an installation

Size of a meson bomb = (w|h|l) 179 | 144 | 372

Even if the rest is just padding , the central core 'bomb' takes about a quarter of that... roughly 50 | 35 | 90 (fuzzy guess).  Which is bigger than Ursa, never mind a Helios.
