assorted computer things
ok, I've recently had to rebuild my computer, reinstalled windows twice now, and reformatted, but now I think I made the windows partition too small (2.5 gigs and the OS barely fits), is there any way to make it a gig or so bigger without haveing to reinstall windows again? I don't care what happens to any of the other partitions as they arn't even formatted yet.

also I was planning on installing Linux on another 1.5 - 2.5 gig partition, currently I just need to know that I won't have to reinstall windows again to do it and how much disk space will be needed on the partition (I know it has to be FAT32)

There is a program called Partition Magic.  It's the only one I know of that can Non-Destructively manage partitions.
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

Yeah, go buy Partition Magic. Or ICQ me. Same result either way, 'cept one is much cheaper.

Note the complete lack of the W word

ok, that didn't work, but it did force me to reformat and reinstall wich let me change the partition size, so same effect :D

I hope there isn't something wrong with my hard drive, becase formatting and me havn't been getting along very well for some reason.

ok, next on the list, I think something is wrong with my keyboard (this is what started this whole thing actualy) after a while my mouse sort of disapears, and weird stuff starts happening, this started right after I took my keyboard apart (just to clean out a bunch of crumbs and stuf) and hasn't stoped after three reformat/reinstalls, it seems to be sendig some sort of signal, but I'm not sure what, luckily I can set it back to normal (or as far as I can tell) simply by hitting any key (even shift or numlock) this seems to happen randomly and/or when ever the computer trys to detect it. this causes all sorts of havoc, like "press any key to cancel"s to cancel if I'm away, and weirdness during startup.
for a while I couldn't do shift-o (O) and it seems to be rather buggy now, have to hit it hard, then I got an error beap from my computer (just now) the shift with any other key seems to work but shift-o causes beeps nothing or 1/3rd of the time works
this seems to be the cause to why I've had to go through all this trouble bacese when the thing starts up things behave oddly if I don't press any keys to stop the signal, the thing that realy got me was the first time it restarted, rather than the normal windows XP screen I was greeted by a small blinking dot in the upper left hand corner, no idea what this was or is (I still get it if I don't hit a key after the bios screen) it sits there blinking for about 20 seconds then a ascii status bar goes across the bottom of the screen (if anyone has any idea what this is, tell cause it's realy freaking me out, but I'm sure it's just some windows/bios utility triggered by what ever signal the keyboard is sending) after this I tried reinstalling windows, without realy doing it right, I just said install it when the cd auto-played, it tryied installing over it'self and kept crashing about 60% through the first  loading thing, and it never asked me if I accepted terms and agreements. got windows running again eventualy in a seperate install, used that to move files before I reformatted, but it took me forever to figure out how to the get the internet back, stupidly I never reinstalled the motherboard drivers, once I did that it was simple, then I reformatted, but the wrong sizes, and you all can see what has happened sence then, I've just about got everything back running I just have to reinstall a few of the luxury items (TV card, remote, joystic, scanner, ect)
