Mik, I'm going to wait until April 25 to open my boxes of ANZAC biscuits (that's ANZAC Day). But indeed, go Australia! A fine, fine nation to live in, I say.

Vegemite is bad in microscopic amounts. I understand its nutritional value, but I can't take it. A more vile sludge has never been concocted and passed off as food.

As for the ANZAC biscuits, I get my wife to make them as often as possible. They're my absolute favorite biscuits EVER. Their link to ANZAC Day, and thus to veterans everywhere, doesn't hurt. When we move back, I'll be one of the expat american soldiers and sailors marching in uniform on ANZAC Day.

Hee Hee I suppose being fed the stuff pretty much since getting off milk gives the average Aussie a slightly different perspective. Still, agree on the ANZAC bikkies, assuming you don't put Tim Tams and the likein the same category (which I don't).

[EDIT] Move back? What part did you used to live in? (From the VB I'm assuming either Victoria or NSW).

Well.. that's what I thought.. I argued with my mother about it for 20 minutes, but she refused to think that there would be an entire holiday created to unwrapping presents and holding onto the grandeur of Christmas.

My wife's from Adelaide. We'll be moving back down this time next year, most likely. As for VB, its the only decent beer from there that makes it hear. We've basically got two choices: Fosters and VB. VB is hard to find, but Fosters is ubiquitous. I try to explain to people that Fosters is Australian for 'rancid camel urine strained through a dirty jock', but they won't believe me.

I got the impression people drank it because of the comical commericals rather than the taste.

They drink itwhen they can;t get EB (ie. when they live outside of WA for the most part)

I actually preferring most everything from Coopers. Since you can't get that up over, I settle for VB.
