Need help with TechRoom NO SHOWS

Could someone PLEASE explain to me how Freespace decides what is shown in the techroom. I'm sick of the need to test textures by making missions for my new conversions.

make sure you include the "in tech database" (or what ever) flag and then make a new pilot
