What does it mean when ones girlfriend (an avid anti gamer) finds a game they LOVE that one wouldn't expect?

Namely, my GF is incredibly into beating the living **** out of police officers patrolling the streets of Vice city, and she hates every single game I have (except Halo, she loves the grass textures on blood gulch).

Exactly what I was thinking, I just thought it was mildy perturbing that she only targets police officers.

Seems to be some kind of outlet for her frustration against the police or just authority period.  I say marry her.

targeting the police officers is fun because it adds exictment to the game by having a real crazy shoot out
but heres some advise for her, when she beats the game, tell her to grab a police officer's outfit, go over to the airforce base and at the very back pick up the Apache and then shoot every thing in site
best of all, go over to the beach with a wanted level of 6 with the apache

also in vice city I sometimes like just killing everything in sight, esp when I get the katana and chop off some heads, or the chainsaw to splatter some blood everywhere; am I sane?

now seriously, dont be too worried about what she does in the games, I like the kill people in games all the time but would never want to in real life cause in games their not real and in that way I can do it just for fun, she just wants an unpredictable shoot out in a massive city, thats why I loved GTA3/VC because of that kind of thing where I can go almsot anywhere and the action would always be differnt(esp with the give pedistrians guns and have them fight ) I dont think you should be too worried, its just a game. Unless she really wants to do the stuff she does in the games, then you should be worried

You need to collect all 100 hidden packages to do that though and that takes some doing/cheating

But yeah it is well worth it

I still think my best ramapage though was when I found a nice bunker where the cops found it hard to shoot me which was right next to a health pick up. I had over 5000 rounds on my mini gun and I basically stayed where I was killing anything that came at me. They never got me and in the end I nicked one of the army tanks and drove off in it

As for the girlfriend don't worry. Unless she's really homicidal in RL games like this are just a way of venting tension. In fact it's somewhat honerable that she only picks on cops rather than unarmed civilians too.

State of Emergency on the PS2 is better.

You run through the streets gunning down gang-members, FBI and Soldiers then run away towards the flamethrower(s). The second you get it, you spin around and burn about 40 people to death and collect all the time and point bonuses. Then you run off, get a rocket-launcher, take out a few Hummers and do the whole thing over again.

Never liked State Of Emergency though I thought the concept was fantastic.

What worries me more so about the missus' excessive police violence is that the only other games she really enjoys are the 2d Sonic the Hedgehogs and 2d Mario games.

Actually, tell a lie, she really digs Pikmin too, but you've got to have no soul at all to not like that game.

this remind me of a really quiet and sweet girl in my class, the one to always lsiten to the teachers and everything. one day, me, 2 of my friends and that girl were sitting in the back of the class, and me and my mates were discussing violence in games, and she chips in with "yeah, i like GTA3 a lot you know, it really helps release any anger". after we picked our jaws up from the floor, the four of us went discussing the best game with the most violence in it.

Ever consider the fact that cause she can vent steam in GTA 3 she can remain quet and sweet?

I was the same with syndicate before that. Going out and commiting mass murder in that game really calmed me down when I was annoyed. If I was down rather than angry a few minutes of Bubble Bobble cured the problem. I don't think it's physically possible to stay down while playing that game

I like using the muchkoku cheat on Shogun and massacring feudal Japan.

There's nothing quite as satisfying as marching 20,000 +Armour, +Attack heavy cavalry, archers, No-Dachi and monks against the last little enemy province and laughing as your fanatically loyal armies slaughter the last opposing Daimyo and the 3 remaining members of his personal guard.


Also, kasperl, I believed your little tale right up until you mentioned having friends.

I got tired of her whining one night and tracked down her phone, address and school-record. That really scared the **** out of her.
