It's already been bumped once, but there's no way that will work.  There is still a hard subobject-per-model limit, and multipart turrets count as 2 of those objects per turret.

It's not much of an excuse for a website, but my stuff can be found here

Ok.  I have got the individual multi part turret count down to 18 (18 turrets).  Is this a more realistic figure??

Much better. I think the limit Trashman asked for was 25. Whether or not he got it is another matter but 18 should work :D

I know that this is a little early to be asking.  But i am renound for taking a decent mesh and never skining it in a way that does it justice.  If / when i get this one finished would anyone like to skin it for me??  anyone interested would be most appreciated.

25 Is the curren max as I recall, so that should work (My Iowa has 20 ...or was it 22 ...and it works, so...)

Looking good, but take my advice...don't overdo it with the quad devide/triangulate, etc....
I allmost never use that stuff..and even when I do, I delete many unnecesary edges...  I try to make max usage of every polygon
It's a lot simpler (for me at least)to bevel/union/substract a untriangulated model..., and then after adding detals, manually add edges where they are needed...

Ok.  I now have 73 turrets on the main body.  I just have some more defencive turrets to put on the fins, and three on the very front.

About a week and 94 turrets later.  I have a mostly complete mesh.

Recently while playing another game i decided on a name.  Dorouse.  He is the God of law and order in a game called Majesty.

Skined in good old fs2 textures would probably be easier in the little experience i have had in this department.  But by all means feel free to use some artistic licence if you feel the need c419.

The file is a truespace 3.2 .scn file.

and here it is.

hmm, i think it would be cooler if you would scale down the wing-thingies on the sides and put some engines on 'em.

There are engines on the wings.  They are on the other end of the pic.  you can't see them yet.  would you like to see them?

Awesome, great job stepping up for the texture work c914. Can't wait to see the results from that nice little (big) mesh you got there, boewolf. ;)

Been planing what the loadout will be like and there probably won't be much anti fighter cover.  So i am planing a new cruiser / corv.

To that end I am attempting to  combine the front end of the Aeolus or Fenris to the rear end of a Dimose.

This class will have little anti capship defence but will have overwhelming anfi fighter defence.

:ick:

That doesn't sound... natural...

Seriously though, try something a little more original.  The Deimos and Aeolus do bear a limited resemblence to one another already.

I prefer the final Fenris-derived version of the superjuggy to the AWACS:

Very imposing and majestic. The shape seems to suggest more a carrier than a battleship. Me likes.

Do you still have this version of the mesh?
