Eh. Wonderful Days or whatever it was called looked to be roughly similar and one hell of a lot better (still got to get that, actually), and whoever thought up that name is doing some bad freaky ****.

yeah, I've not been much impressed with that new appleseed trailer.
Tho, Stryke, stop shooting crap out of your ass, Shirow is one of the best mangaka around accoring to me ( ever heard of Ghost in the Shell? ). He's just never been lucky when it came to having apple seed converted to anime. As for the name, since you haven't read the mangas and so can't understand where it comes from, please refrain from commenting .
Anyway, you can't compare this one ( 100% cell shaded 3D ) with Wonderful Days, with normal cell animation for characters, and CGI+ real photos for backgrounds. Completly different league, on a technical level ( on any level actually ).

bah, I'm looking much more after Ghost in the Shell: Innocence. This one is gonna rock.

It's a largely CG hybrid anime about saving the world based in a semiapocalyptic future, released roughly last year.

It's a CG-based anime about... something based in what sure as hell looks like a semiapocalyptic future, released soon.

Yeah, no comparison at all. I was way off base with that one!

Seriously. If you honestly think there's a really major distinction there at all, you're at the stage of anime nerdism where it's basically futile for you to have conversations on the subject with anybody not a rabid anime nerd, so you might as well just be quiet now anyway.

And whenever did producing a good movie ensure that all movies produced by the same guy would be good? That's just stupid, and can be disproven pretty solidly by actually looking at any director in the entire history of moviemaking. Or cartoonmaking. Whatever.

Have you read the Appleseed mangas? Have you seen Wonderful Days? I've done both, now if you wanna talk about something, check it first. geez, those peoples who think they're right when they don't even ****ing know what they're talking about . It's as similar as startrek is similar with starwars or dune. One deals with ecology and pollution ( Wonderful Days ), the other is 100% ficused on man/machine stuff ( as usual with Shirow, in fact ). But I forgot you know everything even w/o seeing it, my bad. It seems. It looks like. Yeah right, strong arguments there.

And as for producing movies: Shirow produced none. He created the Apple Seed manga and the Ghost in the shell manga. Since your comment was about "whoever thought up that name is doing some bad freaky ****", and since Shirow is responsible for his mangas names, and those animes are just adaptations of the manga, I wonder what the hell you're taking about. Shirow named Appleseed, and yet all the stuff ( mangas ) I've seen from him rocked.
I'm pretty well aware that coz it's adapted from his works won't means the anime will rock, since the first apple seed OAV was crappy as hell.
Are you tired today?

That trailer wasn't too bad, had seen it a few weeks back though... I think Ghost in the Shell: Innocence is looking to be the best for a while to come. From the trailers and promos I've seen and spotted its got to be a winner

Can't read, but I bet 1$ it's something along the lines of '" from the creator of Ghost in the Shell" or "After the award winning GitS" :p

It does look good except the debris from explosions. Why do they always forget to shade the particle systems? They always look out of place.
[I am not really here. This post is entirely a figment of your imagination.]

Because unless you're using a procedural, particles ****ing suck to shade. And most people are too dumb to use procedurals.
