Does anybody play online?  If so what server?  What side?

I used to play it, but I met too many idiots who could not play in teams , so I gave up. No team in renegade= no victory.

I just started, but cheating appears to be rampant on the servers I play on.

Yeah, the server I was playing just got shut down because 2/3 of GDI side and 1-2 on the NOD side were cheating.  I think I'm going to talk to EA amd see what they are doing about it.  You're right about the teamwork also, I was in a Light Tank and another guy was playing a Technician and was standing out of the line of fire, I was able to blow 2 Mammoths away.

Well I do, on a couple occasions, coz they were really thouht out: that was sweet. But well, voila: a couple occasions on a hundred games, that's sad.

It's hard to coordinate something like that without a well-trained team and voice com.  I mean, I had a Mammoth rush ready to go and bam, renegade bombed.

I used to play (played a few with Venom, actually), but got pissed at what Venom said, the lack of teamwork. My brother still plays online a bunch - he's part of a clan, so lack of teamwork isn't an issue.


I'm surprised he hasn't posted in here yet. ;)


Hmmm... if we get enough people here who play, we could start a clan. It'd be doubly dangerous, since people here tend to be more mature than your average internet kiddie. ;)

oh yeah and about the teamwork I always go intoa  server with people on TS http://www.teamspeak.org DL if you like, thats the way all the clans communicate ingame. :yes:  ;7

and yes cheating is rampant in renegade but im the mod of both CEO servers and the DFC one so play in there when you see me online and ill take care of it + Tefon@oneshell is always a favorite for the guys in the clan im in [D|F|C] ... and EA basically told us FU they aint doing crap about the cheating some guys have been trying to make Rengaurd it was supposed to come out in september and then again in november and decmber and for christmas and January... but nope... they keep running into some crap basically renegade has over 230 backdoors to exploite so they have thier work cut out for em...

anyway you play ren? or are interested in learning how? look me up on GSA (dont do WOL 1. at least 30% more n00bs AVERAGE per server 2. they cant snipe to save thier lives 3. hardly anyone thier knows how to play for fun cause they have it all laddered and so every guys in there is playing for himself every level trying to get the most points using whatever works... they get relaly cheap) anyway look me up on GSA [D|F|C]-Splinter :nod:

About -the teamplay... I gotta admit, tho, that whenever I could, I'd get myself an orca :p ( what can I say, I love them ). 0n some map -canyon, I think- we managed to make a real air war, once, was very cool actually :)

canoyon is the one with the big vehicle tunnel under the nod airstrip and does not have flying units... only walls flying glacier flying(which you enver seea roud anyway) and city flying do. :D

the way the game is built to date there is no game there comes close to being more of a RTS game in a FPS body... no freaking way BF1942 got squat on it as well as all the rest. :drevil:

I used to play.....then my CD went kaput.

But hell yeah! C&C Renegade was FUN!!

Didn't know you have flying vehicles in there tho.

Yeah I played for a while!  Orcas were amazing to fly...I love those things.  Right from the original C&C Demo (I would build tons of them and go hunting harvesters and tanks).  Definate lack of teamplay tho...

they were brought in multiplayer thanks to a patch. the controls are not the best, tho, I would have gladly got rid of the nose turret control, and be able to strafe instead ( hell, even in tiberian dawn, they strafe :doubt: )

punctuation ate my friend. anyway yeah orcas can strafe you need to hold the normal strafe button like for men plus ctrl alt or shift i froget which one cause I dotn use it... come from somone who pwns entire rushes wiht oen orca I tell you this it strafes to slow to be of any real use. :drevil:

and teamplay is deffinetly more active now then it was when alot of you guys played. jsut for the heck of it I jsut finished a CW we lost the first map by 2k won the 2nd with 3k lost the 3rd by 7000 and won the 4th with 9000k... in other words we won except we cant be sure by how mucah cause no one took the screenies :rolleyes: and so technically we cant know for sure which team won. althought I must say we only lost 2 cause the leader got discconected 15 times in 3 games cause of hardware problems in his PC... we would have won them all we dragged a recruit in to replace him tin the 4th map and we won by alot more as you can see... so if we had actually had him playing wiht no intturuptions we would have won the enitre thing... hes so angry he put a couple holes in his computer case rofl. :p

I should reinstall renegade, I think, but I always had huge problems connecting to the westwood online thing and had to resort playing on gamespy... But now that WS is down the drain, I guess it's another server now?
