Orca's would be about 100000000 times better if snipers couldn't kill them so easily.  UT2K4 has better vehicles anyways

Personally, I'm looking forward to either BF:Vietnam (Hueys!  Napalm!  Ak-47s!), or Breed (dropships! er... ).  Assuming Breed doesn't turn out shecters, of course.

Fortunately, both are out after my final year project is due to be handed in.

I should reinstall renegade, I think, but I always had huge problems connecting to the westwood online thing and had to resort playing on gamespy... But now that WS is down the drain, I guess it's another server now?

nah westwood online is still running but as I said before your going to want to use GSA anyway... WOL guys suck at sniping and are the most selfish players  you will find because the enitre thing is laddered so like even the normal server games everyone is playing relaly hard for themselves... they cant play for fun. and orcas CREAM snipers muahaha... as long as you can dodge them till you get close enough or sneak up behind em. ;7

Unless the sniper suffers from alzeimher disease, I can't really see how an orca could dodge his shots...

My question is why a Havoc can take out a Mobile Artillery with 5 shots?

I mean it takes all the fun out of a game when you can't even get out the front door of your base 5 minutes after it starts.

You should not be able to get Havoc 5 minutes after the game starts: he's too costy.
iirc, at least.

There's an example of cheating then.

Oh, how can we also forget the time my team got flame tank rushed and then 2 minutes later stealth tank rushed.

yeah, that's obviously cheating...
iirc, Havoc is 2000 credits, right?
Stealth Tank rush? Now I've never seen that, they're not that efficient in packs, in fact that's plain stupid. Stealth tanks are great alone ( or two, taht's the best, two stealth tanks together ), for hunting heavier ( and therefore slower ) stuff in wide open areas. Many stealth tanks at once, they'll just be in the way of each others.
Was my favourite tank for a while, I killed many mammoth with it, they just underestimate its strengh because of the weak hull and missiles. But that's the only tank that can easily dodge shells even at short range, so who needs heavy hull? :)

Are you SERIOUS? Done properly, ST rushes are way more effective than flame rushes. If the enemy doesn't see you until you start hitting a building, and doesn't have time to prepare and get repair guys in there, then 4 ST's can cream a building after around 2 barrages (2 shots each).

Some of my favorite tactics involve stealth tanks and beacons. :D For example, one I came up with was to get a stealth tank and a stealth black hand with a beacon. In maps without base defenses (c&c_complex.mix works best), you sneak the ST around one of the sides and to the back of the base, where the harvester and refinery are. Park the ST a the refinery loading dock, right where the harvy deposits tiberium. Make sure the the ST is facing sideways. Get out of the tank a wee bit before the harvy comes back and place the beacon in a corner of the dock. Then you get back in the tank, which is unable to escape because the harvy is trying to return to unload, and is preventing the ST from leaving or turning around.

If guys come to disarm the beacon, they can either be run over by the ST (which can still move side to side), or their repair beam can be blocked by the ST. If someone starts shooting your tank, roll to the other side of the dock, forcing hi to come around the back of the harvy to get a firing angle. Then just run him over. It's a win-win situation. :D

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

Havoc is 1000 credits, so it's relatively easy to have by 5 minute on some maps.  The most expensive is the Mammoth tank at 1500, and it's by far the most effective, except up close.  Two well supported Mammoths can eradicate any foe.

That's what I said about team work. A large ST rush should have no way of coming close to your base.

I play online a lot, good game, but "teamwork" usually ends up being everyone running in the same direction at the same time without prior planning - good when you're up against an equally unorganized team, not pretty when you're up against a well prepared one.  I think I've been in about 3 good rushes, and those were beautiful; the others just sorta died.

EDIT: one of those three good rushes was a Stank rush, 8 tanks, city flying, killed their whole base before they could fully react.  Mind you, their defense tower was still up and running when we entered.

I'm surprised he hasn't posted in here yet. ;)

Hmmm... if we get enough people here who play, we could start a clan. It'd be doubly dangerous, since people here tend to be more mature than your average internet kiddie. ;)

We played also dude:D
