Well....

I , Whitelight and Free Terran are the only team members, and FT has so little time that practicly everything is on my shoulders..

The project is too big for me alone, so I'm putting it on ice (untill eternity perhaps...). :(
No one is more depressed than me becoause of this...I had big plans..and the EndMission would have been spetacular (ask Sloth if you don't belive me...)

Oh well...I'm gonna finish up any models I started and put the rest on a modeldump.
Every DOTA ship made will be put for download....(onc Whitelight finishes the pathing)

So there...any project in a need of a modeler/PCS/Lot'sOfStuff guy?

I was wondering why FreeTerran always has his chat set to 'away'. lol.

But yeh, TAP is in some need of moddelers etc things are starting to pick up again internally. And if we had a POFer than we might just be able to excrete out a demo... :p

Now, since DOTA is scrapped, I guess I can tell you the whole plot I had planned. If I'm not gonna use it, then maby someone will find it usefull:

Even before the end of the Second Great War, the GTVA realised that it cannot stand against the Shivans superior numbers. Just before the Capella incident they started the most abmicious project so far - project "War Factory". The Alpha Centauri system has been converted into one gigantic shipyard. Installations and construction rings have been built and towed into orbit around the systems planets, and most of the population dedicated itself to ship construction and reasearch.
Five years after the Capella incident the sol node has been re-opend and Earth joind with the GTVA again. Becoause of the isolation, Earth scientist have been reaserching into different areas and yielded different tech which has only strenghtend the Alliance.
They allso built their own ships, in fear of another Shivan invasion.
The strenghtend GTVA has expanded during the next years and established contact with the Aascard.

The Ascartd are an old race. They were as powerfull as the GTVA once, but the Shivans crossed their path. After years of conflict their empire crumbled as Shivan juggernouts ripped trough their defenses and their homeworld. Only a small number escaped destruction, fleeing in transport ships from the shivan armada. They collapsed several jump nodes and travelled trough 24 systems before arriving to their current homesystem Cyalinar (which means sanctuary). Today, their empire consists of 4 systems and is an ally of the GTVA(Now called Galactic Alliance - GA).

The remaints of NTF are now nothing more than pirates.
The HOL is a small terrorist group, or at least it seems so.
After the Capella incident, the belif in the "destroyers" has gained momentum...

....

In the first several missions the GA fights against pirates whose number and force seem to be increasing. At first they seem disorganized and ill-equipped, but their attacks become more and more bold. The number and equipment of their ships is allso increasing. Allso the pirates seem to have some sort of device that prevents thier ship from beeing detected by long-range scans (alltough short-range scans brake trough their jamming).
The GA decides to increase pressure and unleashes 2 full battlegroups at them.

Then large numbers of HOL warship start emerging from nowhere, Vasudan ships of unknown design.
At the end of the first Great War, when the defeat of the HOL seemed iminent, a large number of their forces fled trough a unstable jump node in the Ghenna system (unstable for the GTVA ships of that time, but the HOL clearly had secrets of their own). They came to the system Bakhu 12, where they made a new HOL base/colony and built their armada, waiting for the return of the destroyers.
When the HOL returned they seen the power of the GA and they started secretly aiding the largest pirate clan in the hopes of bringing the pirates under their control and spreding chaos in the Alliance

The fight against the HOL goes well for the GA, but then, the Shivans return.
The new Alliance ships{Battlecruisers, Frigates(Excalibur), Carriers(Galaxy, Lancer), Battleships(Paladin), Heavy Battleships(Iowa)} and weapons prove to be extreemly effective, and they inflicht heavy losses to the Shivans.But for each Shivan ships destroyed, two more take their place....
With great nubmers they threaten to swarm the GA, but a fourth, mysterious rece joins the battle (name still not set). It fights both against the Shivans and the GA, but seems slightly weaker than their shivan enemy. The GTVA has found itself in the middle of the conflict between two titans and the end seems iminent....With the Shivans advancing from one side and the Unknowns from the other, several systems seem to lost. The GA attempts to evacuate as many civilians as possible, but the only escape route leads allmost directly trough the front line.

But the fourth race starts loosing...badly and is in full retreat.
At the end of the campaign, the GTVA scout wing descoveres a MASSIVE Shivan asteroid installation, and GA orders a full strike. While a SOC force leads the assault, the GA is still trying to evacuate civililans.

ENDING 1: SOC side...
A Large SOC grup (Lancer carreir, Iowa shielded prototype and lot's of support ships) jump in.
The asteroid installation is more than 60km across and 2 Gigantic warships (20km) are beeing built. One is allmost complete, the other one not nearly so.
As the fleet moves in the station fires it's great beam (it has 4..one on each side) and pulverizes a destroyer with one hit. The fleet stops outside the beam's range and fighters and bombers are sent in to whack the beam.... After the player whacks the beam the fleet starts moving in, but Shivan re-inforcements start to arrive. The battle around the installation is in full swing as 3 Unknown warships jump in (About a minute before that the player recives a transmission from the GA forces that escort civiians. They infor them that 3 Unknown ship have jumped out towards them). 1 is destroyed, two ram the station, but do only little damage.
More Shivan warships jump in. The Iowa opens fire on the Half-completed Shivan Super-Juggy and blasts a opening on the side of it's hull, then fires on the other Juggy. The player takes out the now exposed reactor and the Juggy blows up, it's explosion taking out the other damaged Juggy
and the station....The shivans retreat...THE END

ENDING 2: Normal Navy
Player escorts a large convoy trough a battle zone. Sihvans from the one side, Unknown from the other blast eachother apart. The convoy must pass allmost derectly inbetween and alltough the capships ignore it, the stray shots/beams tag a freighter or two. The fighters start attacking the convoy. 3 Unknown ships jump out towars the Shivan installation and your wingman informes the SOC forces. After minutes of intense fighting the first of the convoy reaches the node and start jumping out. Suddenly the Shivans start retreating big time, persued by the Unknown. You recive transmission about the installations destruction..The end....

SIDES:

- GA - (Terrans, Vasudans, Ascard)

Terrans - well balanced ships, various design, preferably blocky... powerfull weapons
Vasudans - powerfull reactors, fast ships... a bit less powerfull weapons
Ascard - lot's of fast-fire, but weak beam cannons...

APPERANCE: Tall humanoids, slim, long thin noses, short eybrows, very human-like
SHIP DESIGN: sleek Winged ships,with at leat two wings (facing either forfard or backward, but the same wing design),
 dark texture with glowing thingys
WEAPONS: Orange beams, plasma cannons + standard weapons

Their fleet consists of smaller ships. They have excellent fighters, cruisers and corvettes. Their largest ship class is a Destroyer, alltough they have contributed to the design/construiction of larger Alliance warships


- UNKNOWN -

APPERANCE: Unknown

SHIP DESIGN: design still not set, but blocky design with plenty of asymetric extrusions seems good so far.

COLOUR: Greenish...still not set so far...maby a shade of blue...

WEAPONS: Purple beams (weaker then other races)... their ships are heavily armed and have multiple beam cannon from all sides...   Allso some sort of plasma blob weapons...possibly      They could maby have cloack


 - SHIVANS -

Everything standard.... new ships will be needed.. some very big ones



---PIRATES--

Several clans, they all use older fighters/warships or custom made ships. Mostly fighters and cruiser-sized warships. Very fast and adept at disabling ships.


---Civilians--
GA ships, alltough never under your control. Used for luxury or transport. Stations and freighters/liners are poorly armed, but are allmost allways acompanied by security fighters. Bigger ships have hangar bays and security forces.
