is there any software to convert a Windows Media Video file to a mpeg to so i can watch my animations on my DVD player?

just downloaded the one that hippo was talking about its a demo but there is really nothing you can't do.  see for yourself

EDIT:  well it leaves a freaking ugly title on over two minute movies. so there's a downer for ya:(

Virtual dub won't touch asf. MS told them to take the ability to convert them out. If you've got an older version you can use that.

It pops up exactly the same warning with wmv files. Even down to calling them ASF files.

I think at the end of the day these formats will end up killing themselves for exactly this reason. Microsoft can ***** all they like, but people just won't use their formats any more, they'll end up being reserved for movie trailers and adverts on commercial websites, which is more or less what they are now.
No doubt Microsoft will keep trying to throw spanners in everyone elses works, and no doubt people will keep changing to freeware formats  which offer just as good compression without the paranoia.

Try getting an older version of VRDub 1.3xx I guess - those supported ASF.

What's going to kill you though is getting the codecs for the job - on that matter: I have no idea.

ok well i found a lot of them on download.com and  found that most of them will just do half the file so i justed used boilsoft and manage to get that message to show in the top rigth hand corner of the screen, so i now have a trailer for ma wee B5 campaign its about 20 meg for 2mins need to try and reduce the size,
