Too much depends on the cpu you have.

On newer cpus like the A64 and P4's with the integrated heatspreader, "too much" is anything more than a grain of rice size.


On an exposed core like with the Bartons, "too much" is anything more than a paper-thin layer spread over the core.

The 2500+ M (NOT the normal 2500+) is a Barton and has the same amount of cache as the 2600+.  It also overclocks like a P4 2.4C but doesn't require the uber-expensive RAM.

We all know the 2500+ M is a good chip but try getting it from outside the US and you might be going all over town and ending up with nothing some places simply do not stock Mobile processors because laptops are usually prebuilt elsewhere.

Indeed, but I know it can get gotten in Canada and the US


And I know you don't want to overclock now Nico, but I'd like to just point out that the 2500+ goes to 2.4GHz on air.

I'm just asking you to bring it up to 2.2GHz so it would be stable

But a 2600+ is still a pretty good chip
