The BB has been destroyed.  Many lives, many friends are gone.  Everyone in the FreeSpace Community feel this loss deeply.

Yet, greater is the tragedy of the newbies.  There is nothing between finishing the FreeSpace campaign and losing interest.  Soon their salvation will be gone.

Our members fought bravely to preserve the BB, but there was nothing to be done.  THQ was too powerful.

Many lives were saved by the post of a link by Shrike.  For that we are thankful.  But we mourn the loss of Todd Millar.  He was a great moderator and he disappeared with the forum he loved.

All surviving members are reassigned to the HLP Forums.  Though we all lost friends on the BB, there is no time to mourn the dead.  The fate of the community is grim.

It has been two years as of tomorrow, that the BB was closed. Few of the members there relocated, and many gave up hope when the shining beacon of hope was extinguished.

All of us who were there will remember it well. It was something, which for us, can never be forgotten. And so I present my 2 year memorial render.

The ironic thing is that at the time I was already actively playing on PXO, but I never got round to register on the VBB.

I remember the day, and i also dont see it so grimly. Unfortunately the community shot itself in the foot, and that is why the VBB went away, from the problems on squadwars, to the flame wars on the general forums regarding issues that were not related to FS2, to the constant bickering between even the most honored people, all for the last word.

I remember the VBB closing down and remember thinking it was our own faults. This is a lesson to me, not to take things for granted even online.
