It's a little late...
..., but happy Easter!

This is the day traditionally set aside by Christians to celebrate the ressurection of our savior Jesus Christ after having lain in a tomb for 3 days.

This is meant to be a celebratory thread, if you want to rag on Easter or Christianity in general start a new thread please.

Don't forget that its also a celebration of fertility rights for the ancient Sumerian goddess of fertility (thus the origin of the eggs, etc)! Happy Easter. :)

I'm starting a foundation to save all the cute little chocolate bunnies from evil bunny-eating kids. Please, if you see a bunny, don't let it be brutally slaughtered.

Save the bunnies! :D

Mal: This is the captain. We have a little problem with our entry sequence, so we may experience some slight turbulence and then... explode.

They should! Ungrateful bastards, look how far America has morally degraded since the faith of Ishtar is no longer being taught in schools due to those damn left-wing liberal Christians!

I'm only helping the celebretory mood, Drew. I know I celebrate fertility every chance I get. If you can't find joy in that, you're not doing it right. :)

Now, if you could look for the HUMOR and the FUN in things, rather than kneejerking whenever someone mentions anything that you could possibly construe as non-happy, you might enjoy life more.

In short: I'm not taking the fun out of anything. I was giving more reasons for fun in the interests of inclusivity--we're not all christians here, you know.

Note, I didn't DISAGREE or ARGUE with Lib, did I?

Happy chocolate egg day. I've managed to sustain my record of attending church once* in twenty two years :)

So, is the bunny related to the whole fertility deal?

No, but you were mildly blasphemous, but since I'm not God I'll let it slide.;)

As for the rest of you, you should attend more often.  You'd be surprised at the kind of people you meet at church, their not all like me, more likely none are like me.  I'm mildly insane from living alone and not taking part in society for nearly 4 years.

I was not blasphemous in the least:
blasphemy:
blasphemous language (expressing disrespect for God or for something sacred)

I showed no disrespect for god OR for something sacred. I MAY have bordered on heresy, but that's a different animal.

I also wasn't being sarcastic:
sarcasm
witty language used to convey insults or scorn

I hold no scorn for the convention of Easter (either in its pagan origins or its more recent judeochristian celebration). Nor did I utter even the first insult. I'm afraid you have me confused for Kaz.

I've said it many times before and I will say it again: read what I say, not what you WISH or WANT me to say.

Lib, it might surprise you to learn that I attend the Stations of the Cross on occasion, and still carry the nail I recieved the last time I went. I may not be a christian, but I recognize good morality.

"the nail I recieved the last time I went."
I hear that hurts

hmm so that's were the eggs and rabits came from, I always wondered about that, like maybe Jesus didn't like eggs, he was like "I don't care what you do with them, boil 'em paint em pretty color hide them, just get them out of my sight!", but then I though well there were 12 apostles, and eggs come in packs of 12, and in each dozen there's always one egg that's cracked. THE JUDAS EGG!!!
