To whoever is doing the maintenance here...

I would very much appreciate it if in future revisions of the forum, there would be a possibility for a general upload/link area. Currently I am trapesing from back to front and back again through the whole forum, hunting for a specific release of a specific tool...never seem to be able to find it when I need it....if all posted links to tools/uploaded versions, would be combined on a single page, it would make searching helluva lot easier and version control/overview would be much much simpler....

I know, I know, effort...but at some point this is going to get ridiculous having to hunt everywhere if the topic does not refer to it...

i know you're not  a n00b, but that tag is  easier to use then a link...

anyway, the wiki ought to contain links to almost everything. and in the SCP forum there is a sticky "latest versions of everything" try that.

well now, thanx for the belated welcome :D but I was more referring to the aberant releases, there's several special compile versions PCS floating around I gather, a highlimit cob2pof (still haven't found that one), the hilimit modview version, and the likes...the wiki and the latest versions thread do not cover these little tools (at least not last time I checked it...?)

btb, I've been tryin to find my way around the wiki, but navigation is ...how shall I put this...awkward? which makes a bit difficult to determine what is already there....also, who is the ultimate end-all-be-all for the wiki? I found a list of orphaned pages but have no idea if these are really orphaned or just superceeded by new info (which should have been done with diffs and history I think, not?)

Whilest on the topic of the wiki...some HLP members have personal sites with a tutorial of some sort (i.e. IPA's great TS tutorial, the turreting guide, the beamreference, etc)...in my limited optics, such pages are perfect to be entered into the wiki instead of just referring to them (websites tend to dissapear)

Well, Kazan's latest build of PCS ( 1.3.42 ) and Vasudan Admirals' bumped up version of Modelview, and Bobboau's Aurora are about all the ship modelling tools you'll ever need.

Latest PCS, best support so far.

Check with VA for the Modelview thingy if it's not already in the latest versions.

Check Bobboau's siggy for Aurora, but at the moment it doesn't handle HT&L models :(

Flipside :D

My entire FAQ is very slowly moving over to the wiki. The FRED guide and the Turretting tutorials are the biggest problem because they both use images quite heavily (which makes formatting them for the wiki and getting the images hosted somewhere on HLP a pain).

BTW I don't believe I've ever stated this but if anyone ever wants to simply cut and paste from my FAQ when adding the wiki I won't mind :D

Your efforts are greatly appreciated, kara. Do you still need help uploading things to HLP? I can assist with that. :)

I'll get all the images I have in the FAQ together sometime soon and then post again.
