Life is good, life is very, very good
listen Sandwich, running at 1024x768 is a big step up when you're used to running at 800x600 your whole life :p

i'm sure in a few days i'll find this resolution too small and kick it up another few hundred pixels. ;)

The capability is there ;)

Yeah, I figured as much, but I couldn't resist a bit of nagging. ;)

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Stealth, I don't know how your eyes are, but I find that the text is too small and I would give myself eyestrain trying to read it, I run my desktop at 1024x768 and run all games at screen res where possible, because unlike a bunch of eye candy junkies I can't tell a difference between the two visually, but my system runs tons smoother at 10x7.

When you use Photoshop and similar programs frequently, the difference between 1024x768 and 1600x1200 is HUGE.

I'm still happy with my 21" Panasonic :D

Indeed, the high resolution comes very handy especially when photoshopping etc.
More space to work with.
Habeeb it...

Yeah, but I don't.  What does it matter, when all I do is a little pixel/color editing with my mouse?

You know what they say about a guy with a big monitor...

He can get bigger resolutions!

I am satisfied with my 17' monitor. The maximal resolution of 1280x1024 is just enough.

StarCraft Campaign Editor! Don't try to make a scenario at 640x480! :p
Q3Radiant and other Radiants are also good at better resolutions. There is more room for the textures. But FRED? Doesn't make difference if we disregard the tools panel.

In some ways it's harder, if you do per-pixel work....photoshop goes up to something like 1600x res, which isn't that close in at my res (1600*1200 on a 19")

This is true. Simple solution: Change the resolution. :)
What he stated is still true: The difference is really HUGE. Just in this case, on the negative side.
