I don't really know where this goes, but this seemed like the most general place to put it.  After looking (not exhaustively, I'll admit, but thuroughly) for a solid link to the HLP Wiki, I can't actually find one other than through kasperl's title and maybe a couple of signatures.  It occurs to me that new members may have difficulty in finding the thing, especially when I do while trying to just look and see what's been updated.  So my request is relatively simple: could an admin possibly add at least a link to the Wiki to the main site, so that we don't have to dig up the reference each time we want to point someone there?  Maybe under resources or even as its own item on the main page?  Adding it to the forums themselves seems like more trouble than it'd be worth, but at least giving a link somewhere that doesn't involve finding a particular member's post would be most useful.

Oh, if I'm just blind and missed a link somewhere, please lock and/or delete this thread.  Thanks.
who needs a signature? ;)
It's not much of an excuse for a website, but my stuff can be found here

I always thought it was pretty hard to navigate through the wiki....
Am I the only one? :D

well, it depends on what you call navigate. if you want to search for something specific, using the search button is often the best option, but if you just want to browse, it's a very nice system. this wiki is just rather thiny compared to things like the wikipedia.

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

No you're not the only one, that is my single gripe with the system. Even though the logo top-right gives you a direct link back to the front page, you still have to do a lot of backtracking or going back to the startpage.

Funny though, it's strongest point is at the same time it's weakest point. The whole purpose of a wiki is to create an extensivily interlinked whole, sadly the interlinking part is not much applied here yet, with the drawback that once you're on a page, dealing with this or that, the only other way out is all too often the logo top-right again...

so folks, do not just GO there, but PARTICIPATE! just login and you can edit, so if you see a page not being linked to yet being discussed on a related page, LINK IT...

@SandWich: Then tell Styxx he needs a typing lesson...or he's intentionally steering everyone back here ? :D
While you're @it, please let him also add a link of sorts to the WiKi on the forum's mainpage? Maybe in the header? so it's always visible...

edit: Thank You! :D

I very seldomly come here thru the HLP mainpage, I guess there will be many others doing exactly the same, thus never seeing the link there....
Likewise, a link to HLP's front page is also difficult to find when you're here in the forum...one in theader would be seen much sooner than the link at the bottom of the page...

:doubt: ah so! :D that is one handy macro tag... :D

Wikki is great for a guy like me, but the GUI needs some heavy modifying for it to be user friendly.

Remember, people like pictures that explain a link rather then a text link.
I found the more text links you have the more a user usually navigates away from the page, rather then a page with small but nice looking directional images.

The web is meant to entice a viewer as well as be informational, IMO the wikki is only half of what it needs to be.

It serves a great purpose and deserves an update.

I think he's misreading kasperl's post.  He's demonstrating the [wiki] tag, and he used my name since I brought it up :)  No, he doesn't think I'm a noob.

You can tell that the tag was used, by the way, because it's the only way you'd get a : ) as something other than a :).
