ok. I'm just about desperate now.

I can't get FRED to work ever since i downloaded opengl.dll from a site and put it in my windows/system directory. Upon finding that it was an older version of OGL (1.1 and not 1.2), FRED gave me a ##@T^ error message and refused to work. When I deleted it, FRED complained that I have no opengl32 or opengl.dll file in my system directory.

I then tried to update my device drivers with teh flashzone drivers that NVIDIA has released.

But it STILL DOESNT WORK! it STILL asks me for the OGL file, but I cant find any .dll that FRED wont complain about. Ive tried the regular sites, but nothing works....


Any help please?

Im having a similar problem.  My vid card came with 1.1 and S3 shut down before 1.2 came out.  So now, most newer OGL games will not work and every OGL driver I try never seems to work.

All these cards don't have support for 1.2 afaik, so even new drivers wouldn't help.

I might be wrong.

Well, the thing is FRED used to work perfectly fine just before I installed the file, which means its a .dll issue, not an issue of the card....

i had a GF2 MX400 when i was developing OpenGL for FSO.  The newest drivers should work

IIRC then this file is native for W2K...comes on the cd and in SP's

if you don't have either w2k CD or SP's lying around and it's EN version than I can put it up for download or email it to you...
