ergh... I remember those! I just can't remembe which game... uh Mechwarrior 2?
EDIT: no that 3rd one can't be from 2... hmmm... Mechwarrior 4.
EDIT2: the 3rd one is definately from 4.

I don't remember what it sounded like in MW3 because you got so little ammo for it. It DID sound cool in MW4 though. If you mean the PPC then yeah, those sounded like Star Trek phasers

The PPC was also changed into a beam instead of a big blue ball of death like it used to be.

the gauss rifle just made a little 'pshew' noise in MW4 and the PPC sounded awesome in MW4 it was like SKREEEOOOWWW!!! or something. It sounded all electric-y.
