Well, duinno about the States, but in France, there's litteraly thousnads of kilometsr wide of colza crops. Sure, that would not be able to follow the dayly use of one country, but I'm sure that developped on a world-wide scale, this would not pale in comparison with the dayly petrol extraction.
Problem is, the world would be smelly ( colza buses stink, pb is, colza fields stink too ).

No I didnt, if you converted the entire landmass of the US into growing solely biofuel products it wouldnt cover the amount of oil the US imports, about 25% of world production and rising.

lol Flipside.  yeah, well actually my complaint was against fuel efficiency (6-7 mpg) AND the size of the tank (25 gallons) is MASSIVE.  it took me $45.00 to fill up two days ago!!! *shudders*

yeah, the next car i buy is definately going to be an import.  american cars produce brute power.  import cars are all about fuel efficiency (for the most part).  and fuel efficiency is getting more and more important with gas prices on the rise

I've never seen the point of buying a car that can go 250 kilometers per hour when the sign by the roadway says max: 80 on it. I mean, sure, speed a little. but going 250 downa a road with other traffic? your signing your own death warrant.
