Okay, so I felt like distracting myself and playing a fun game this morning. I go to look at my games folder... and nothing really appeals to me. I think "hrm... that's odd. I haven't felt this way in a while." So I go look at my game shelf, and start trying to want to play some games to no avail.
Call of Duty: More or less beat all the fun missions on the hardest difficulty. I guess I could play online, but I might as well play Halo.
Halo: I've probably played 10 hours of Halo online (with my new net connection- get <100 pings all day. I'm rather burnt out for the time being.
Splinter Cell (Pandora Tommarrow): I'm still in Jerusalem, but the game just doesn't seem all that great. You sneak behind somebody with either a mixture of going slow, crouching, or staying in the dark. They never see you, you hit them, wee, they're dead. It got so tedious and repetitave that I thought for a while I could win any fight in real life if I could crouch-sneak behind someone and bop them in the back of the head with my elbow. The original Splinter Cell was pretty sweet, yet for some reason, I'm just not feeling it on this one.
KOTOR: Beat it. Can't really bring myself to spend another 40 hours playing it once through again, especially since I know how it ends more or less.
Star Wars Galaxies: Ehh.. I got tired of the basic heart of the game. Kill moderately hard monsters for 3 days so you can level up one weapon skill. Leavel up three weapon skills and you can be a master specialist in that field of weapons, which lets you kill slightly bigger monsters. Kill the slightly bigger monsters for two weeks to level up a specific weapon to master. Yay, now you can kill semi-big monsters. Go out and try to kill bigger monsters. Die trying or encounter a glitch that doesn't let you or won't let you finish your mission.
Sure I could move into non-killing professions, but then you don't get to explore anywhere and you basically do the same thing, just in a different context. Bleh. I'm glad I'm not paying for this.
Warcraft III / Frozen Throne: I love thinking about playing WC3, but when I actually try to go play it, it doesn't seem that fun. I think it's cause some of the missions seemed genuinely hard/tedious.. especially because of the low unit cap. Maybe I'll play online with somebody though.
NOLF2: I haven't played it yet... but... I don't know. Just don't feel like it. Maybe I should.
LOTR: ROTK: BLeh, I didn't know it was going to be a side-scrolling action game. I'm glad it was a gift.
GTA3/GTA:VC : No reason to play GTA 3 when you have VC. And I've bought and done all the missions I think I could find in VC. There's the Car Dealership missions... but I can't find the race track.
Mafia: Great game, but I beat it. Don't know if I want to play it again. The City isn't all that interactive, even in the story.
FS2: Well... I'm trying to distract myself *from* FS2.
FS1: I could play it over again... hrm...
Total Annihilation: AI isn't tough enough.
CnC General: Meh. Tried the blitzkrieg mod, but it basically comes down to who gets the most higher tier level tanks first. Meh.
Ghost Recon: Meh. Single player = boring.
Battlefield 1942: Might as well play Halo.
X-Wing Alliance: Might as well play FS.
AoE2/Exp: Meh. Whole rock-paper-scissors thing sucks. And guard towers don't hit anything, which makes base defense a *****.
Star Trek Armada: Good game, but limited.
Star Trek Armada 2: Unlimited, but ****ty game.
---------
So I'm more or less left with playing the Starcraft campaigns, which don't sound that bad, or maybe NOLF2. Or I could just go work on FS stuff like a good little boy...
What I really need though, are ideas for new games to buy. I get PC gamer, but off the top of my head, I can't think of any good games out there that I don't have. I'll probably by IL-2 Strumovik soon though.
