Re-installing FS2 tonight. Need VP extraction tools that work with FS2. I don't know HLP that well, but where exactly can i get these?

Also, patching. Where can i get patches? FS1 as well...

Check Descent-freespace.com, you'll find what you want under the patches and Tools section (Look for VPView).

It's more of a VP editor though. Good if you have a FS2-compatible directory structure with the files, or want to view/edit/delete files within an existing VP. Otherwise you can only add 1 file at a time to an existing VP file.
