It's for the MoD, so I wouldn't worry - it'll probably be disabled by space dust sitting on the solar panels or something.

Yeah. Extreme heat will likely be a problem... sunlgith hits satellite and it's mechanism jams. (ahem... not that I'm referring to SA80 ahum)

The warm and fuzzy world peace future envisioned by a dreamer is NOT your future, so get over it.

I can see Big Brother Skynet used to help keep track of terrorists. So it is easy to see it's eventual sentience determined dangerous Humans are BAD. Fact, all Humans can turn BAD so ALL HUMANS ARE A THREAT! Termination is the logical conclusion as unlike machines, Humans cannot be Programmed to behave (YET). The resources to build a CONSTRUCT (A Matrix) to house them and contain their illogical processes and behaviors would be too expensive and untimely. Termination is cost efficent and solves teh problem completely.
Don't think of it as being outnumbered. Think of it as having a wide target selection !

Why did they decide to call it Skynet I wonder. That like calling it Big Brother. It just makes people take notice and of course, notice the parallells between their system and its namesake.

Where's Arnie when you need him...

Because it's a network using satellites in the sky, perhaps?

Yes, Skynet was the sentient defence system that went rogue, thus creating the nuclear war which precedes the building of the Terminators ;)

That reminds of Dilbert.

"OK, so our company is called Pathway Communication" and today it merged with E-Tech Corporation...so that would make our new company name "Path-E-Tech Inc.".

Just because its accurate doesn't mean they should use it. Negative connotations and all that. But that really their thing, I was just wondering, considering that its a really bad PR move.
