Fs2 campaign story...well a piece of it..!
Well i'm still working on it but this will definatly be in the campaign if I ever get around to start work on it.
I wonder why I never started work on it till noe....:confused:  ...oh yeah I know.....but still I'm tring...!:)
Well enyway here is a short timeline of this thing.

2367:-End of the second shivan war.
         -Destruction of the Colossus and Cappela star.
2368:-begining of the reconstruction of the GTVA fleets.
2368:-Firs signs of touble begin to apear...in the GTVA.Begining of a new civil war.
2369:The GTVA is disolved as its been declared incapable of dealing with the new economic and milatary situation.The Begining of the Dark Ages.
25december2369:-The GTVA turns into a new form of gouverment The Empire the TV Empire.Emperor Khonsu steps up to the throne of the new empire suported by most of the terran and vasudan senators.
Martial law is being declared through out the the new empire.
The  new emperor begins work on a new economic and milatary strategi to deal with the rebels and bring the empire to a economic stabilaty.
july2370:-Suported by 70 of the 120 senators emperor Khonsu puts into efect his plan to create a powrfull new Empire fleet to properly secure the empire and deal with eny new threats that may apear.54% of the empires money are diverted towards miltary research and the construction of new warships.
2371:The first Seth class corvette sucesfuly completes its trials and goes onlyne.(Seth class corvette a heavy class corvette with masive armour and weaponry for its class).
2371:Emperor Khonsu decides to divert another 10% of the empires money towards subspace research,discovery of subspace nodes,and finding a way to reoped the vital Sol node.
2372:the Leviathan class cruiser is the only remaining cruiser class warship still remaining in service.
2372:Emperor Khonsu requests a new class of cruisers to be developed,this new class of cruisers must incorporate all of the losons learned from the 2 shivan wars.
2373:-the first signs that the economy is starting to move in the right direction, a economic growth of 0% is reported with the forecast for the next year of an estimated 9%.
2374:Emperor Khonsu decides to finaly deal with the rebel forces and theyr strongholdes in  Sirius,Polaris,DEneb and Epsilon-Pegasi.
18 milion imperial storm tropers are sent to take back these sistems and "deal" with eny and all rebel presence.
The troops are escorted to theyr misions by the TVE 2nd fleet,4th fleet,7 and 8  fleets as well as an aditional 3000 long range fighters and bommbers equiped with itersistem jump drives.
Thats all for now I promise to continue this later today or tomarow.

I very much doubt the people would willing choose dictatorship over democracy, but I suppose it's the campaign that counts more than the backstory.

Concerning the rest : should this end up in a mission campaign, then it will probably be spoiled by the spelling, shouldn't you work on it. Furthermore, this sounds very much like "best of Star Wars vs. B5". I mean, "imperial strom troopers"? :wtf:

Well I guess you are right about the "imperial storm troopers" i'l call the assaul troops as for the economic 0% growth this represents the economic growth from - to 0.for example if an economy goes in - the it can have an -5% economic growth and when the economy is at 0 that means that the total net spending of that economy equals the total net income now you have a 0% economic growth or if the economy stagnates for long periods that is also 0% economic growth.Well at least I think thats how its suposed to be.
Oh and I realy hate when my replyes dont show up in the thread i post them for example I just lost 1 h posting in this thread with the remaining of the story line and guess what it said i wasn loged in so after i loged in hit the back button and the reply was gone.

well lets give it another try:
2378:The rebelion is crushed
2379:Emperor Khonsu orderes the construction of 4 mamoth shipyards.
2380:The first Ka class cruisers go into active service.
2381:The leviathan class cruisers retire from active service.
2382:The last mamoth shiyard is finished.
2383:2 Elite fleets are formed  The Pretorian Guard is borned.
2384:The Sobeck and Deimos class corvettes are retired from active service and are replaced by the new sleek hitech and much more powerfull Seth class corvettes.
2385:Emperor Khonsu is asasinated.
2386:The Republic form of gouverment is instituted.
2386:The republic is disolved and the GTVF is born.
2388:The Federation places an order for 3 new destoyer class warships,3 new corvette class warships,and intermiar class of warships bethwen a corvette and a destroyer as well as a heavy weapons platform and another warship class classified.Estimated time till the firs warship class will be available 3 years.
2389:The firs Zeus device is finished and brought onlyne in Delta Serpentis (terran Knossos).the first atemp to reopen the sol node fails.A more powerfull version of this device is needed,work begins on it almost imediatly.The existing device is dismanteled and shiped to the Vega sistem.
2400:The Zeus device is asembeled and brought onlyne a node is opened from Vega to the Isolated Procyon A.
2403:The hathepsuit class destroyers are begining to be phased out the Avenger class destroyer is brought into production.
2405:The firs Carier class warship is finished cariing capacity 980 ships.
2406:Work on a clasified prototype of a new very powerfull warship is finished in the vega sistem where 2 of the mamoth shipyards were built.The First Drednought class warship is finished.
2407:The GTVF anounces a new era of explorations and colonazation is anounced asa a new Zeus device opened the way to 4 new star sistems all of them apear to of belonged to the ancients.Another Knossos device is discovered.Only one sistem is habitable the other 3 are hyghly rich in rare gasses and minerals due to theyr gas giants and heavy asteroid fileds as well as rich in rare minerals planets 2 of them to be exact.
2408:The GTVF anounces that it needes to step up production of new warships,Major breakthroughs are achieved in ship design,engine tech,subspace engine tech,weapons tech,armour tech,medical and ship building tech.

That is it for now.I hope to get deeper into details later on.

the only similarities they have are that they both have spaceships. Freelancer sucks horribly and has a terrible story. Freespace rocks, has a great story, and is extremely moddable. :p

Well both races get cut off from thier world, both have an enemy who wants to see them destroyed, each enemy shares an equal hatred for them.

Not to mention that its kinda wierd that both races share the same name GTA: Galatic Terran Alliance and in Freelancer you have the Alliance.

You know you could acutally combine them.... make an interesting story.....

"We were trapped, abandoned, but were safe from the Shivan threat, all was good for a while until economic depression came. Years of poverty ensued, we knew we had to do something quickly, so plans for a new government were formed, strangely this was called the Allaince, as time went by we slowly repaired our dying culture we destroyed any documents that suggested any contact with an alien species, and as the generations died out so did our painful past vanish itself."

Then after that the story would progress to a new movement forming called the coalition, allaince breaks through the blockade, system explodes, allaince enters the sirus system, 5 houses form. Nomads come.....

How they would clash is GTVA finds a jump node leads to an unknown system, science vessel explores and finds an wormhole leading to an omega system (which is a big find), goes into wormhole, contact with another human race. Kodak moment.....

Look I know the spelling is horible.
As for the Freelancer&FS universes combining well I dont think so.
The Freelancer universe sucks big time it gave me pleasure for about 15 minutes after wich I played it for the sake of finishing another "greatest spaceshooter wana be" .
The modeling  well thats another piece of pie  because for some of these ships (If I ever get my lasy ass of the chair and start looking for some modders) I only need one or maybe 2 of them and some of them wont even apear in the game they will be mentioned and it will say that they've done that and that...but thats about it.
I still have to tie up a lot of loose end in this campaign story and only then I can start looking for some help actualy making the campaign. However since I started going through books like 3dmax and dreamweaver I hope to be able to help with the moding as little as I can.
You see the throuble is this I dont think enyone is going to want to help me with the campaign (modeling, texturing, and everithing else) why I say oki that I like that I dont like and stuff like that there that is why I will only start work on this campaign and start looking for help when I am sure that I can contribute to the total work at least with something more than the story and directions on how that needs to be done and what that needs to look like.

As for the rst of the campaign that needs work I mean I know what i want from this thing I just need to figure out how to make it hapen.

Oh and another thing I was wondering what would the apearence of some 3 new species look like.
I mean One is the ancients....but the other two couldnt be more diferent one from another.
One is a fragile specie inhabiting some 14 star sistems they are much like the GTVA used to be in the firs shivan war, Technologicly I mean and guess what the GTVF stumbeless across them.
As for the 3'rd specie they are what the GTVF think is the bigger problem much bigger then the shivans.

They are well how to say this if the shivans for the sake of argument were the GTVF then these guis are the shivans. The diference is that although they are somewhat more advanced then the shivans technology wise the shivans have the numerical advantage.

Well I could use some help with geting all of these together in a coherent plot whoever feels it can help out feel free to post your opinins sugestions posible outcomes of battles plots etc.

You are aware that introducing a new species is the kiss of death for 90% of mods?  I mean, you'd need new textures, new models, cgi artwork, sound effects, etc to create an acceptable backstory.

 If you're just going to rehash the FS1 story with 'bigger, badder' aliens, then you'll be on a hiding onto nothing.   I mean, it took me the best part of a year to create the Nightmare backstory & make it 'fit' into the FS2 universe.....and at the end of the day I couldn't handle the requirements of Reci without in some way compromising the quality fo the work (that's a primary reason for junking it).

If you want to make a campaign, especially with the current work volume of the community, make it short, sweet and with minimal modding.  If you really want to get people interested, you need to prove you can tell a coherent story without relying on eye-candy.

Yeah, I'd have to agree.  The storyline is the hardest part.  I mean, with almost the entire FS MODding community trueSpace savvy, creating MODs isn't as difficult as it was say - - - - - - 3 years ago.

Again, based on what I have read about your stories, I'd have to say - - - - - - - - - Please keep Star Trek and Star Wars out of it!  I know it's tempting as they were the pioneers to all space sci-fi games out there.  But - - - try to stick to the FS2 storyline and make it - - - - - original.

As an aside, I really think people starting campaigns should look at small scale stories - i.e. on an individual level rather than the apocalyptic epics everyone seems to want to make...... think novella or short story.

Oh, and write the story before deciding on what mods you need, not vice versa.  One of my worst faults is not doing this enough, largely because i'm a better modeller than storywriter.

This is something that has been being pushed pretty much since the latter days of the VBB. I agree with the concept, but I doubt it's ever likely to catch on, which is a real shame. The cool thing about minicampaigns is that they can be based around a mod - say you've made a cool new cruiser - you could make five missions about its maiden voyage. Or a new fighter that was specifically developed to combat a specific threat. These sorts of things should really be the backbone of our mod library, but they seem all but nonexistent :(.
