kietotheworld: VolitionWatch archive is still up but a lot of the files seem to be corrupted so I suspect it'll get killed off.
I've been trying to pull a dump of as much of it as I can but it's taking a while since I can't throw wget at it, and I'm finding myself having to dicard a lot due to the corruptions.
It's really painful, espescially since the host websites for most of them no longer exist

As for FS3, well, thanks to all the infantile idiots I think we've pretty much put off everyone from picking up the licence up if DS doesn't.
I reckon he could make a decent go of it - the technical skill is there, but I don't think he'd get the 'soul' of FS3 right without help.
Ideally I'd like Volition to make FS3 (Wouldn't we all?

) but they seem to have abandoned FS for more lucrative markets much in the same way LucasArts abandoned the X-Wing simulator series for the more profitable Rogue Squadron console-y games.
Whoever does it - The main hook will be the Storyline. If they get this right, it will do well. If they try to win by eye-candy and neglect the story, the game will get murdered by our FSO.
As it is, whoever does it will be up against stiff competition in the form of B5 and BWO - These productions look to be killer mods for FSO; Their only Achilles heel is the lack of time available to the devs, which gives commercial devs time to pull off something good, but if they screw it up or take too long B5 and BWO will trump them seriously.
