I have successfully installed SCP but my question relates to the media VP files. I downloaded the mv_zpack that contains all the enhancements from every VP file. Do i simply place the VP file in the root directory of Freespace and do i leave the file name as mv_zpack.vp?


edit: I just realized that there are already a bunch of vp files already in the root dir that must have been installed by the SCP installer. I was under the impression that these had to be installed individually?? So does the SCP 3.6 installer already have all the VP files?

edit again: I have also being trying to download the SCP media additions but about 2/3 of the links on the web page are dead

The 3.6 installer will install the 3.6 mVP files, newer versions are available in my mediaVP updates thread in this forum as well as the Wiki media VP page.

Many of the media additions are already in the mediaVP.

so all the high poly models and effects should already be installed? So what im basically asking is that after installing 3.6 I dont have to do anymore to get all the nifty effects and models?

well some of the effects are still being worked on, the deimos I made for example is still being built, the screen shots of it you may have seen were from a week ago when I first relesed a development version of it. you should have most of the effects installed now (if I understand what you did corectly) there are probly a few scatered about that you don't have thogh. try running it and if there is something missing that you would have expected to be there (like if all the weapon effects and backgrounds are missing, that's common and realy easy to fix usualy (-jpgtga BTW)) just come back here and we'll try to get it for you.
