Interesting documentaries
playing in Hamilton, Ontario in September, sweet! Thanks for the link. And now, here are mine:

The Corporation - available on Suprnova
Examines the influence that large multinational corporations play in modern society. There's too much stuff for me to describe it, just go see the movie. Playing in all major American and Canadian cities, and coming to the UK in the fall.

Control Room
Reports on the state of journalism during the Iraq war. Looks deep into the inner workings of  Al Jazeera, as well as CENTCOM (US military media). I have, unfortunately, not yet seen it, but it is showing pretty much everywhere in the States.

The Revolution will not be Televised - available on Suprnova
Brilliant documentary regarding the April, 2002 coup in Venezuela against, when forces led by the business community and corporate media succesfully overthrew elected president, Hugo Chavez. Due to overwhelming opposition from the country's poor and middle classes, and a portion of the military, the coup leaders where forced to flee and Chavez was re-instated. The parralells between this coup and the the one in Chile in 1973, that brought Augusto Pinochet to power, are quite disturbing. A little one-sided, I thought, but it is one of the rare voices of of dissent among the foreign media on the Chavez issue. Highly recommended.

There is now (mid August) a referendum to decide the country's future.

Atlantis-  available on Suprnova
*The* single best underwater film that you will ever see. Made by Luc Besson right after filming The Big Blue, this film is just sheer, unadultered beauty. There is no way I could describe it, nor praise it highly enough. Just go and download it (probably won't find a theatre showing it, it was made in 1991) now. Now, go. Yes, right now. Trust me, you will not be disapointed.

Interesting documentaries
I would also recommend Frontline and Now with Bill Moyers on PBS.

Interesting documentaries
hey, you wouldn't happen to have Frontline: Merchants of Cool, would you? Technically, you can stream it all from their website, bu the servers are nearly aways busy and its just not practical. They (PBS Frontline) look to have some interesting documentaries, which I would like to watch if I could find them.

I saw that one but I don't have it. That was a really good one, too.
