Some times the mind grows numb to drive away the pain. I think that you are in that stage right now. From the little I know, it seems that your mother suffered a lot. If anything can be said about that, she is not suffering now.

When the pain of her loss returns, please remember 3 things...

1) She is not in pain anymore.
2) She will always be watching over you.
3) She never wants to see you sad. Your smile means the world for her.

I remember months ago when she was not well. I also remember you not feeling too well, Setekh. As someone who's lost a family member I can tell you it does get better, and you will feel better in time. And it's not that you forget, she's just in a better place. Wherever that may be.

The funeral was today. It was amazing - 50 of my friends alone came. There was something like 220 attendees in total... we couldn't all fit in the church.

It feels good to know that people care about you enough to come to your mothers funeral, doesn't it

I've been the same situation once, (the Church being packed) but this is not the place for it.

Yeah, it's funny, you could've mistaken it for my funeral. You're absolutely right, it really was wonderful - I know they all wanted to be there, though. Every one of my friends who walked in our door was a son or daughter to her.
