Well, based on the FS2 intro, you could say Deneb... But they never specified the exact system name... And we are confused as to why the Hades was crashed in Deneb in the first place...

I was under the impression that the Joutenheim was in Beta Aquilae.  As far as why a crashed hades is seen in Deneb, I think the WIP "Silent Threat: Reborn" plans on addressing that.

IIRC the GTI was in Beta Aquilae for the most part, the intro says different but is full holes so probably shouldn't be trusted (though it is cool)

The Hades in deneb was an interplay stuff up - nothing more serious than that :)

The intro isnt specific as to whether the Hades was in Deneb or not. Notice the planet is snowy with trees, whereas the planet with the crashed fighter is desert as high as you can see through the atmosphere. I think the makers of the movie wanted to point out the Hades being destroyed "long ago" to put the player in the right time peroid: Much after GW1 also after ST. However it could just be the latter without the former and have absolutely nothing to do with the storyline, just a perspective thingy.

The intro is actually very specific on that note, with the same fighter you see crash from the battle of Deneb into that planet.  The desert world is meant to indicate a planetary catastrophy after the battle was over, though there is no reference to planets made uninhabitable because of a battle on orbit above (with the sole exception of Vasuda).  Besides, the Hades was destroyed far from any planet; 32 years doesn't make it very likely that debris from the ship would collectively drift into one, much less in a nearly pristine state.  The FS2 intro is known to be crawling with inconsistancies, so it doesn't mean much.

maybe the intro makes just wanted a crashed ship to add a bit of atmosphere and just happened to pick the Hades.

just because it crashed in desert/mountain rage doesnt mean the planet was devasted, the Sahara and the Himalayas arent left over from a space battle now are they

As said before, ST:R will fix everything. If that powers that be decide to finish it that is.

We have located the GTI's base of operations- the Jotunheim installation in the Beta Aquilae system.

The full extent of their activities in Beta Aquilae remain unknown. However, we believe the GTI has been studying Shivan culture and technology at Jotunheim since the massacre at Ross 128.
