They made good games, Turok was one of my favourite shooters despite it had strange a mouse control method.

Lotsa game companies going down, it should be interesting to see what rises to fill the nieche...this sort ofthing could mean an interesting next few years for us gamers...

It depends whether a new company rises to fill the niche or one of the giants simply expands to fill it. The problem is these days is, due to new technology etc, games are more and more frequently too expensive to produce and make profit from :(

I expect big companies will take the market over and smaller will wither away. That again means that the few big companies are producing mainstream games, placing the money where they thing will sell.

It means less innovative and interesting games. :(

That's why I think that the internet is the only hope to escape the same cycle of 'Sports Simulation 2005', 'FPS 2005', 'Platform Game 2005'.

Our hopes lie with projects like the SCP :)
