and her name is Francis. Yet another hurricane makes its path of destruction near Florida. This time everybody is expecting the worst........

Unfortunately no, it's a little hard to miss a thousand miles of coastline.  They can blow out to sea if they come in more from the south, but when they come in from the tip of Africa like Francis has, it's pretty much assured that it'll make landfall somewhere.  That's the price the South pays for its climate.

yeah sometimes but on rare occasions we manage to get a couple. Port Charlotte residents are being given the choice to either evacutate or stay. Which is mostly to do with the heavy rains we will probably get. Just think about it would a tarp survive and if you have no tarp...... well you get what I mean. Luckily we still have a roof, though I cant say that for the others.

Update: Hurricane Francis has slowed down and wont make landfall until Saturday night. Good news: We will have more time to prepare. Bad news: At its curret rate of speed it will stay on land much longer. So think about about a category 4 hurrican moving slowly with wind speed of 130-140!

They have also seen another tropical storm called Ivan right behind Francis, and so I hoping that it doesn't form into a hurrican as well.........

Port Charlotte..... good news though its decrease rapidly over the past few hours. Wind speeds 115 mph. Still going to get wind gusts though and its moving at a speed of 9 mph

Path of destruction may affect West Florida.

but forecasters warned the storm track would bring the center of the hurricane back over the warm water of the northeastern Gulf of Mexico. They said it was possible Frances would regain intensity by Monday evening.

So now we may face the possibilty of the eye hitting us as well. Im really thinking this is a sign of bad luck. To make it worse we now face the possible threat of Ivan making landfall next weekend as well (yeah seems they did give birth to a child after all)

The largest evacuation in state history, with 2.8 million residents ordered inland, sent 86,000 residents and tourists into shelters. Miami-Dade County told about 320,000 residents they could return home Sunday. The storm shut down much of Florida, including airports and amusement parks, at the start of the usually busy Labor Day weekend.
