hey, I acknowledge I'm stealing. Yeah, so? There is a difference, to me at least, between stealing from the Mom 'n Pop store down the street and stealing from Microsoft.

oh and, kudos to what Bob said. I'm in favour of vastly increased public media. And making the maximum political campaign donation per person a few hundred dollars, so that huge corporations can't meddle with the system, or at least are restricted a bit.

I don't think I need to point out the stupidity of this statement, not to mention that it is completely against the first amendment, which protects Political Speech above all others.

I think I should point out how stupid, and flawed your statement is. It has nothing to do with freespeech. It has everything to do with returning the corrupt politicians to the control of the people, where it belongs. All that campaign contributions are is just legalized bribery.

But, to stay on topic, his compatriots from the swiftboat squad he was in and several of his own crewmates,

Which is full of lies, and I can prove it. I can cite two examples without having to double check accuracy:

1.) Al French: He FREELY ADMITTED that he only heard this from friends, and did not even whitness the event. He did sign an affidavit saying he was there, but after admitting he lied his job as a county lawyer is in jeopordy (I do not recall exactly what his title is). How do I know all of this? Because the county I refer to is the one I live in when I am not at my university.

2.) One other guy got a Bronze Star, same as Kerry, for the same action. He stated in his report that they were under enemy fire. But now he says that they were not under enemy fire. So which one of his statements is a lie?

While I could be like you and call you an idiot or something like that, I won't.

The lesson to be learned (this goes for everybody) is don't believe anything that any political ad tells you. They are almost always full of lies and distortions.

And about how much Kerry has spent, Bush has been spending a lot more than Kerry in advertising. In addition to that he has been getting free advertiseing in the media ever since he decided to run for office 4 years ago.

It is not stealing. It is copyright infringement, they are treated very differently in court and the penalties are different.

That said, P2P is not just used for illegal activities and this is another case of banning the tools and tool-makers instead of going after infringers. Ridiculous stuff. Anyhow, how do they expect to enforce it?
Science alone of all the subjects contains within itself the lesson of the danger of belief in the infallibility of the greatest teachers in the preceding generation . . .Learn from science that you must doubt the experts. As a matter of fact, I can also define science another way: Science is the belief in the ignorance of experts. - Richard Feynman

They can't outside of the US as I understand it. So the P2P people will probably just move to Canada if it passes.

Remember that this is the guy who wanted to make it legal to hack into your computer if you were pirating mp3s.

Yes, hack your computer and remotely blow it up. What bothers me is not that he wanted to do it, but that he thought it was possible.

A little titbit for you.

Friday 2 weeks ago, I bought an album.  Why?  Because I'd downloaded half of it off Kazaa (lite), liked the tunes and decided to fork out for it.

I have at least 10,20 albums (almost certainly more) that I've bought for the same reason.   Strangely, I dont regret buying any of them.   In fact, I usually check the Amazon 'people also bought' list and use Kazaa to decide if i actually like any of the artists lsited there, and then pop down the shops.

However, I have decided not to buy albums on the basis of downloading the music, because they sound **** (point in case being the Razorlight one, which I was curious about).  This is probably why

And right after that, some people found out that he was using pirated software on his website. Way to go, huh?
