Thoughts?

Not sure meself, to be honest.  Looks ok graphics wise, but not great IMO.

I could envision a really great freespace mod for that game.

It's already been tested by german game magazine "PC Games" quite some time ago, around mid June, IIRC. It was rated 67 out of 100. To sum it up : nice graphics, bad story, dumb dialogues, little fun on the long run.

If there are modding tools for it, this is worth looking into. :)

FS Mod:

From the trailer, the game itself doesn't look very good. One of these days, someone's gonna make a good new space sim.

I give it 5 months before one of the fans comes around bumming for help for a Freespace mod for it.:D

Freespace 3 ;7
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside

Impressive graphics. Bet it runs slow on all but high end systems. Thats the way X2 is. I thought X2 had pretty decent graphics.
