lol Killfrenzy.
I take it your a fan of BFG?

I hope for one that the space rts genre picks up a bit. Its almost dying out at the moment. All it needs is a little innovation...
I believe Relic could provide a pretty good quality space rts if they put their minds to it... And with the 40k universe already written for them it would be a bit harder for them to screw up the story :p *cough Homeworld2 cough*.

Still, we can only hope... or better yet, keep suggesting it on their forums! :D

No, this was an AI CPU useage issue. Playing against comps, and it would run like a freakin slideshow, didnt matter how many (or few) squads/units were on the map, it ran like crap, yet against humans it ran fine.

i run everything on max though shadow are off ,runs smooth .
though they have saied that they didnt include the option for model in the demo and the default in the demo is "only" medium(you cant change that).

we will have to wait for the retail to see this game in perfection.

did you have to send any game data back to them as part of the beta?  It's possible (if so) that they used the beta to develop fast 'gameplan' presets for the AI, i.e. pseudo-standard responses to common player tactics.

They use something similar for chess playing AI, i.e. Deep Blue had a large master list of tactics and counter-tactics which was used as an adjunct to the more abstract AI parts.

that would kick ass.

Too bad there's no one else in this area that plays BFG :(

Wow. The game looks absolutely awesome!! And the cinematic, OMG!!! :eek: Thats just simply beautiful! A shame there wont bere any more in the game, it'll just be the one, however it does make sense. Blur Studios usually only makes the one offs for their clients who are Game developers. Like Return to Castle Wolfenstein or Bloodrein. IMHO those dudes rock in CGI. And I'm really happy with their work on the cinematic in DOW.

Kinda puts my little trailer to shame it does. Now... If only I could get those guys to work for me... :D
I have returned... Again...

The opening cinematic was almost worth the 22 hour download all by itself.  Gameplay is very warcraftish, I just wish I could zoom out farther.
So as through a glass, and darkly
The age long strife I see
Where I fought in many guises,
Many names, but always me.

There are only 10 types of people in the world , those that understand binary and those that don't.

lol Dark_4ce.
Keep up your work and maybe you'll end up working for them.
I do hope though that they at least have a movie intro for the story and an ending...

Liberator- Yeah, The zoom out limit kinda felt a bit restraining to me too.

Oh and during the beta, there were no manual submissions of data, though it could of been done while online during play I guess...

Though I would hope that it was just them making the AI more efficient...
As long as it works I guess. :D

guys some 1 at the Warhammer community have modded the game so you will be able to play as orc and all the locked units.
follow those steps:

download the extractor and follow the readme stats...(to get VB just search google):
http://www.b5mods.com/tools/general/SpookyRATv200.rar

now do those step to unlock orcs\units:
add all the W40kData.sga by clicking the button the second from the right(the one with the many drivers.. its will extract all files into the folder "data" where the .sga was). afterward change the name from w40kdata.sga to any name (a must do!) like "abcd.backup" and start editing the the file with the notepad... follow this steps :
In the directory Data\attrib\racebps edit the file ork_race.lua (Windows editor will do fine) and change the line
GameData["race_details"]["playable"] = false
to true. You can do this to the other races to but there are no models for Eldar or Chaos and if you try to play the imps the game will crash instantly.

The Terminators:
In directory Data\attrib\spbs\races\space_marines open the file space_marine_squad_terminator.lua and delete the following lines:
GameData["squad_requirement_ext"]["requirement_table"]["required_2"] = Reference("required_ownership")
GameData["squad_requirement_ext"]["requirement_table"]["required_2"]["own_name"] = "relic_struct"
GameData["squad_requirement_ext"]["requirement_table"]["required_2"]["owned_count"] = 1.000
save and you get the terminators.
Same for Landraiders and Squiggoth.

lol, sounds like a lot of effort just to test the Orcs.
I've had the pleasure of playing with all three races in the beta though, so not sure if I really want to goto all the fuss... :p

The game is due out soon anyway, why can't people just wait?

Silly buggers. :rolleyes:

took me less than 3 minutes. beside if you got the beta you can active all the races in the same way, and extract the anamition and models from the beta to the demo. same goes for the maps...and maybe people will figure out a way to extract the multiplayer options from the beta to the demo.

this game is near completsion before its even released...:D

The Eldar Avatar is not to shabby either.
Plus its probably the only non-gay sounding thing in their army. :p

But I'll never get tired of the Chaos dudes talking crazy stuff.

Mind you the Space Marine Commander has a good line or two as well...
