Star Wars Vs Star Trek in 5 minutes
I have a way to settle this argument once and for all:

The Empire would kick the Federation's ass because the Empire and it's technology are so grossly and stupidly overpowered that it doesn't even bear thinking about.

Multi-gigaton blasts from a ****ing laser (which can fire about 5 times a second) is absolutely and completely goddamn preposterous.

Also: Jehovah would wipe the goddamn floor with Buddah.

Jehovah = All-powerful, creator of the universe, person-to-pillar-of-salt, God of all mankind.

Buddah = Fat, bald, pacifist.

Actually I think they'd both just sit there and drink tea while chatting about what they're gonna do with the weather. :D

A comparison I'd rather see is with the Star Fighters!
That said, you almost never see fighter craft in 'Trek so smeg knows if they're any good!

Sci-fi ubergeeks make me weep for the species. Like the thread at Spacebattles debating on whether Alderaan had a shield or not from still captures of it being blown up. It was several pages in length!!

It makes me sad. So very very sad.

I think the one thing we can all agree on is that regardless of how many Gigawatts every laser blast from an ISD puts out, or how many Photon torpedoes a Sovereign class starship can handle - the plexiglass windshield of Starbug would be little protection.

Both Star Trek + Star Wars figures are a bunch of baloney anyway.  What they talk about and write about is bull**** compared to what we see on the screen.

A more interesting Versus:

Shadows versus Shivans

bwahahahaha

This is why Charles Sheffield has two definitions for futuristic fiction in his book "Borderlands of Science". Science Fiction and Science Fantasy.

Science Fiction has alot of grounded basis in reality and current theory where as Science Fantasy consists of a futuristic setting and plenty of technobabble that means nothing.

Honorverse = Science Fiction

Silent Running = Science Fantasy.

I always considered SciFi to be inventing an advanced world characters could interact with. While SciFantasy was basically about getting the point across. Y'know, Outer Limits kinda stuff.

The Death Star(s) probably would have less mass than a real moon too given its material composition and overall structure (more hollow spaces).

That site should do Gungans vs. Ewoks.  Or 3PO Protocol Droids vs. Tribbles.

SERIOUSLY...! | {The Sandvich Bar} - Rhino-FS2 Tutorial | CapShip Turret Upgrade | The Complete FS2 Ship List | System Background Package

"...The quintessential quality of our age is that of dreams coming true. Just think of it. For centuries we have dreamt of flying; recently we made that come true: we have always hankered for speed; now we have speeds greater than we can stand: we wanted to speak to far parts of the Earth; we can: we wanted to explore the sea bottom; we have: and so  on, and so on: and, too, we wanted the power to smash our enemies utterly; we have it. If we had truly wanted peace, we should have had that as well. But true peace has never been one of the genuine dreams - we have got little further than preaching against war in order to appease our consciences. The truly wishful dreams, the many-minded dreams are now irresistible - they become facts." - 'The Outward Urge' by John Wyndham

"The very essence of tolerance rests on the fact that we have to be intolerant of intolerance. Stretching right back to Kant, through the Frankfurt School and up to today, liberalism means that we can do anything we like as long as we don't hurt others. This means that if we are tolerant of others' intolerance - especially when that intolerance is a call for genocide - then all we are doing is allowing that intolerance to flourish, and allowing the violence that will spring from that intolerance to continue unabated." - Bren Carlill

Eh :wtf:

Did you not watch the Dominion War? :p Entire squadrons kick Cardassian and Dominion ass in Sacrifice of Angels. The single greatest battle in ST :D

I mean, "Galaxy wing 9-1 and 9-2 " says a whole lot. :D Hundreds of ships, wings of fighters all flying across your screen. Beams and torpedoes flying in all direction, ships burning and exploding.

they are wrong
lasers no matter how strong dosen´t penetrate the navigation shields of federation ships
the ships are immune against this form of energy
and federation can destroy a planet with a single shot using a soliton wave

or think SW vs the borg the battle lasts 1 minute than the borg adapt ---> goodby SW

in the ST universe are much more powerfull techs like tricobalt torpedos , gravimetrical charges , subspace warheads , cloaking , subspace weapons

and transwarp is much faster than SW travel

ahhhh I must get back the real world  ;)
