Small little gameplay thing.
Just something I thought you guys might want to know. It's not really a bug, so I'll post it here. Whenever I have an aspect-seeking missile selected, and am targeting an enemy (the counter's going down until lock), and I hit alt-pause, the lock icon IMMEDIATLEY locks onto the enemy (with just about a 1-second time delay).
Sorry if this has been said before.

Can you check if this works in mutliplayer? If it does, this is a cheat, and should be fixed.

Does alt-pause even work in multiplayer?  My impression was that all pause functionality was disabled.

Honestly... if you thought that someone would want to win TVT by abusing some faster locking... well he would be probably shred on pices by nearest erinyes in less than the second this cheat-locking takes :D

edit: Thought it could be abusabe in Coop for bomb locking... But if anyone was really interested he could also hit standard pause while firing and wait till all missiles go on target... Not many ppl bother with this tho...

Actually when I try this with FSO the triangle is going to lock on, I press alt-pause, everything stops except for the aspect seeking triangle.

I found that out ages ago.

It's not an issue, IMHO.

Man you could really abuse Trebs, Cyclops, and Helios missiles by doing that. I'll have to give it a shot one of these days. :)
"The reason for this is that the original Fortran got so convoluted and extensive (10's of millions of lines of code) that no-one can actually figure out how it works, there's a massive project going on to decode the original Fortran and write a more modern system, but until then, the UK communication network is actually relying heavily on 35 year old Fortran that nobody understands." - Flipside
